Visuals include motion pictures, filmstrips, videos, projected computer screens and cloth boards. Each visual aid has its own advantages and disadvantages and you as a speaker must be careful in selecting the visuals that best fit for your information, your audience, the setting and your presentation skills.
Guidelines for the use of visuals in presentations include the following:
1) Only use visuals that directly support the message
2) Visuals should be large and clear
3) Keep visuals simple
4) Point to the part of the visual you are discussing
5) Do not break contact with the audience by focusing more on visuals
6) Put visuals out of sight when not in use
7) Rehearse with your visuals before the presentation
