We are in the era of social networking where communication becomes easy on just one click. It has become a trend to join almost every social networking site which includes Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & on a mobile phone we have Whatsapp, BBM & other messengers. We keep on updating every single detail about us for example: our status that includes our emotions & also upload our so called “Selfies” as our display pictures. We also add unknown people just for fun.
Internet is basically for gaining knowledge & information & also communicate with our dear ones. People now have eventually got addicted to social networking sites to gain popularity & to please themselves. Today its like being active on social networking sites adds up to your status. It begins with a poke followed by a friend request & then added by the other person just by going through the profile which are at times fake. “It all begins with a poke on Facebook & Ends with a poke in the Heart”.
People at times misuse the advantages of such sites. I sometimes wonder how can someone add an unknown person to the friendlist & start trusting & communicating without knowing them. People then share their numbers online, become “Hangout” friends, then flirt & eventually land up dating. And this is where the problem begins. People may play with a person’s emotions just for their own benefit. Making unknown friends online is kind of acceptable but getting involved with them is a menace.
People are so carried away that they don’t pay attention to their family, friernds & career & eventually become more lonely & most of the time frustrated. They just want to be the center of attraction. They upload images & statuses with an intention to get maximum likes. Such people are known as attention seekers. Updating status shows the attitude a person has got. For example “I don’t give a f**k.. Do hell with you”. Uploading images for few likes is just like begging for attention.
Students are actually losing their concentration, off their career. They choose chatting over studies & work. Entertaining ourselves through social networking sites for a limited period is understood but extending the entertainment is not a good idea. It disturbs our schedule, leading to backlogs.
The best way to prevent ourselves from being carried away, lonely, frustrated, disappointed, self-obssessed & spending less time with the dear ones is by becoming a better person & giving importance to time management. We should utilize time appropriately & avoid unnecessary chaos in our personal lives. We should have limited friends who are trustworthy & can be counted on. We should understand that our personal  & our social lives are completely different & we should balance the same.
Being socially active is not a problem but unlimited use causes distratction.
           “DISTRACTION LEADS TO DESTRUCTION”.
