Located near one of the most beautiful landmarks of Mumbai – Nariman Point and in close proximity to the biggest business hub; 5 minute walk from Churchgate station (W.Rly).Since it is one of the prime areas of Mumbai , many buses are available throughout the day.

 

  1. Faculty Development:

There are various faculty development programmes to foster quality education they provide to students. Faculty Development Programmes organised by college are very useful to faculties. International Level Seminars enrich their teaching techniques.

 

  1. The Fun Club – RCHR:

Rotaract Club of HR is the most happening and exciting club to get into. This Cool club sees to it that there are more activities than the days in a year.(sounds cool right. Various sports tournaments, debates, competitions, and the famous Prom-night is conducted by the RCHR.

 

  1. One of the most sophisticated crowd you’ll ever come across in Mumbai:

Many students have a  rich family backgrounds and are seen around showing off their luxurious lifestyle. Nerdy and geeky kids are also plenty; you can easily decide which company you want to hangout with.

South Mumbai- as we all know has numerous places which can act as hangout joints. Movie theatre “Eros” – one of the few light on pocket yet decent with the crowd theatres. Regal, Inox, Sterling, aren’t too far away either. To feel mother nature Marine Drive is just a lane away which is the most popular past time amongst students at HR College. Countless restaurants and snack joints aren’t too far . there are many stall of Sandwich and Rolls which are light on pocket but yum in taste not to forget “Chilli Cheese Toast” -a must-try.

This canteen is the most popular hub where students organize major events. It serves the mouth watering Chinese food and is always over crowded by students chattering over a cup of coffee or some of them just lingering around.

 

  1. Attendance is not an issue:

College is most student-friendly in terms of attendance especially in Degree college. At junior college a 40% attendance would be sufficient, and the college doesn’t cause much problems.

 

  1. Online Exams can be given form your house:

Certain tests that are required to be conducted apart from the usual exams by the Mumbai University (as per the new credit system introduced for B.com course) are conducted online. Therefore you don’t need to go to college. Although, as per this system attendance and class participation carries marks which can be lost straight away if you don’t attend. Attendance for other courses like BAF,BMS and BFM is important as the project work could get affected otherwise.

 

  1. Penthouse:

This facility is created on the terrace of the building for the students’ extracurricular activities. Cabins have been created for the Students’ Council and for CHOICE (a student body handling inter-collegiate events). The Penthouse is extensively used for dances, debates, discussions and other activities. It is equipped with a music system and a small cafeteria.

 

    10.  Extra privilege for having XX Chromosomes:

The college provides all modern facilities for the convenience of women students and staff. The Ladies Common Room has comfortable sofas, chairs and hygienic attached bathrooms. A special lady assistant is employed to look after the needs of girl students and to maintain the facilities. Locker facilities are also available in the common room. The Womens’ Development Cell of the college looks after the health & hygiene needs of the girl students.
With ninety five per cent of the staff being ladies, the air-conditioned staff room is geared to meet their needs as clean washrooms, well-equipped kitchen and pantry facilities are provided for their convenience.
