1.Born on 8th March 1953 in Mumbai, she is the fourth child of the Late Ruler of Gwalior His Highness Jivaji Rao Scindiaand his wife Late Rajmata Vijaya Raje.
2. She completed her school education from Presentation Convent, Kodaiknal and then graduated in Economics and Political Science(hons.) from Sophia College in Mumbai.
3.She married Hemant Singh,of the ex-royal Dholpur family,on 17th November 1972 but separated a year later.
4. Her son was elected to the Lok Sabha from her former constituency, Jhalawar.
5.For her efforts to assist women in self-empowerment in 2007 she was awarded “Women Together Award”, by the UNO.
6.Smt. Vasundhara Raje was elected unanimously as the leader of the BJP State uniton December 6,2003.
7. She was sworn in as the first woman Chief Minister of Rajasthan on December 8,2003.
8. During her tenure she worked tirelessly for the development of state,and focused heavily on all-encompassing development,with special focus on women.

12.Her siblings are Yashodhara Raje Scindia, Industries Minister of Madhya Pradesh, the late Madhavrao Scindia, the late Padmavati Raje ‘Akkasaheb’ Burman (1942–64), who wed Kirit Deb Burman, last ruling Maharaja of Tripura, and Usha Raje Rana (b. 1943)who married into the Rana family of Nepal.
