A waterfall is one of the most amazing formations of the nature. It is just so impressive about waterfalls, how thousands of tons of water flowing over a cliff, tumbles down into the river beneath.
1.    Niagara Falls
At a height of just 167 meters, it won’t even come close to breaking the top 100 on a list of highest waterfalls. Niagara Fall is actually famous for another reason; it is the world’s largest waterfall by volume. Niagara Falls is actually a combination of three waterfalls that form the end of the Niagara Gorge. More than 2,407 cubic meters of water falls over the crest line every second; making it number one in terms of flow rates among all the waterfalls. Niagara Falls, the largest waterfall in the world, is also the most visited waterfall in the world!
2.    Iguazu Falls
It is found on the border of Brazil and Argentina. Not very high (285 ft/87 m), but very impressive: it has 275 cascades, which form a horseshoe and stretch for 8858ft (2700 m).
3.    Nohkalikai Falls
This waterfall in India, is of 1100 ft (335 m). Although the feeding stream is only 1,5 mi (2 km) long, Nohkalikai is still very impressive. A pool is formed below the fall, in which water turns green.
4.    Jog Falls
It is created by the River Sharasvathi, falling from a height of 253 meters (829 feet), is the highest waterfall in India. Before the rainy season, Jog Falls is nearly unrecognizable with only a pair of thin streams of water trickling down the cliff. But during the monsoon season, the waterfall comes to life and exceeds even Kaieteur Falls in Guyana in terms of height and volume.
5.     Angel Falls
It is the biggest waterfall in the world. Angel Falls stands at an astonishing 979 meters. This waterfall’s longest drop (out of 47) is 807 meters. Although the fall is located in Venezuela, it is named after US Aviator Jimmie Angel because he was the first pilot to (accidentally) fly over the falls in 1933. Before then, the fall was relatively unknown outside of Venezuela.
