1) The elections in India in 2014 include the Indian General election of 2014 and seven state legislative assembly elections.
2) The voting for the general elections started from 7th April 2014, and the results were announced on 16 May 2014. The electoral strength in 2014 is 81.45 crores, the largest in the world.
3) In 2014, legislative assembly elections will take place for seven states Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Haryana, Maharashtra, Odisha and Sikkim.
4) In Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu became the chief minister. TDP-BJP alliance got majority in 175 member legislative assembly. Nabam Tuki continues as the chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh.
5) The Assembly elections of Odisha were held on 10th April and 17th April and Naveen Patnaik continued as the chief minister of Odisha. In Sikkim, Pawan Kumar Chamling continued as the chief minister of Sikkim.
6)Â Devendra Fadnavis became the chief minister of Maharashtra and Manohar Lal Khattar became the chief minister of Haryana.
