Interview with Rosemary Koshy, TYBMS Sem 5 Topper 2013-14, Alkesh Dinesh Mody Institute of  Financial and Management Studies who scored  78%.

How does it feel to be a Topper in the university exams? Whom will you credit your success to? What was your success mantra?

To be a topper wasn’t even in the list. The aim was to score more than 70% at least. But the feeling to know I topped left me motivated to be better for the next semester.

Success credits: Mrs. Jolly Koshy, my mother and Mr. Rohit Bhopale, my motivator.

No mantra. Just sheer hard work and determination for 1 month and that’s about it!

Did you prepare any timetable and please share your study strategy/exam tips to crack each subject of sem 5?

No study timetable and no study strategy. Give your complete one week to each subject with full concentration and you’ll see the results.

Do you think BMS student require coaching classes or is self-study enough? Had you joined any coaching class for a particular subject?

I don’t think you require coaching class for any subject except if you are weak at numbers. I am pretty weak at numbers and I had joined class for Financial Management at Study Centre, Bandra (E). Thanks to Mandeep Sir, I performed really well.

What was your specialization subject? Why did you opt for it?

Specialization subject :  E-commerce.

I am bad at numbers, Finance wasn’t even in the option. Marketing we do every semester. E-commerce was different, and it was indeed a learning experience.

Can you list the textbooks you referred for all subjects?

Rishabh Publications for all subjects.

Which was your worst paper? Why? Which was your best paper? Why?

Worst paper: Logistics. Lengthy subject, too much matter. Could not cover up all chapters. So did not complete the paper.

Best paper: Human Resource Management. Prepared well.

Today, we often come across students committing suicide out of failure, depression or tension of exams. What do you have to say about this? Did you use any special techniques for stress management?

I was pretty stressed since most of my classmates had almost completed their portion when I was about to start.

Before starting to study, keep the Lord Almighty by your side and that’s my only mantra to the success I’ve achieved.

And remember, stay with people who motivate you.

The Black Book project contributing a significant part to the percentage, please share the experiences you had during the preparation of the project and how has it benefited you.

The Black Book project has been a maniac experience for me. All thanks to Mr. Rohit Bhopale for all the help and guidance received for the preparation of the project.

Using this chance wisely, I took up a topic of my interest to increase my knowledge and be aware of the happenings in the industry I chose.

Did you pursue any additional courses/ internships alongside BMS? What are your future  plans?

No future plans.

Any tips and advises for your juniors?

Time, hard work, concentration are few things we’ve got to take seriously from now on. Hard work from the right time with 100% concentration will give you more than you think. That surely means no cellphones, no internet and limited distractions.
