UPSEE and NDA exams are scheduled on 20th April 2014. This has made the situation worst as students have to choose between UPSEE and NDA entrance exams. It’s not the first time as in 2010, 2011, 2013 both exams were held on the same date.
UPSEE 2014 conducted by Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU), Lucknow tests the eligibility of candidates seeking admission to engineering and management courses in various government and private colleges in the state.
On the other hand, NDA 2014 conducted by Naval Academy is held to admit eligible candidates in armed forces. Naval Academy has announced 55 available seats while NDA has a total of 320 available seats: 208 for Army, 42 for Navy and 70 for Air Force. Candidates selected for NDA will undergo a three year training period after which they will receive a B.Sc/BA degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University.
After completing their training at NDA, Army Cadets will go to Indian Military Academy, Naval Cadets to Naval Academy and Air Force Cadets to Air Force Academy for a final year of training. Candidates selected for the Naval Academy directly after the UPSC exam will undergo four years of training and will be awarded a B.Tech degree on successful completion.
