Ankit Tiwari, Bollywood singer who rose to fame with blockbuster song “Sun Raha Hai Na Tu” from Aashiqui 2, has been accused of rape charges. His brother Ankur Tiwari is arrested for threatening the victim.
The victim is allegedly reported to be Ankit’s girlfriend, a 28-years old event management professional and not from the film industry. She met Ankit through common friends and both brothers used to visit her home quite often.Â
The victim was raped yesterday after promising marriage to her. Ankit Tiwari has been arrested under IPC’s sections 376 for rape and 506 for criminal intimidation, apart from other sections. While the reports and further details in the case are awaited.
