Mumbai University’s academic council has restructured the syllabus of all management programmes offered by MU in order to meet the industry requirements.
Although the official notice has not been uploaded on Mumbai University website, sources confirmed that the new management syllabus will be more industry specific and students will have to spend more time with industry people rather than in the classroom.
Previously, management students had to do 2 months internship (not made followed by many colleges though) and now the students have to do compulsory 6 months internship.
The new restructured syllabus will be applicable from the academic year 2014-15. Full time degree and master degree courses have also been changed.
These kinds of efforts are made to have good employment potentials and also Mumbai University is planning to introduce 3 new specializations like Corporate Law, Education Management and Consultancy.
MBA or Masters students of Mumbai University will have to do 2 internships – 1 of 2 months and the 2nd one is for 4 months.
Hope such initiatives help students to become professional and doesn’t torture them.
