“Festival de Cannes” which is celebrating its 67th edition this year, takes place at Cannes-France every year. It previews new films of all genres, including documentaries from around the world. It is the most prestigious and publicised film festival in the world. This year the festival took place between 14th May and 25th May 2014. Well it’s for sure that our Bollywood Celebs are never behind making their presence felt at such events. And so like every year, this year too saw the celebs giving us some ‘ooh la la’ moments.
Aishwariya Rai Bachan
She might have heard lot of criticism for her post pregnancy weight gain, but she has surely shown everyone what she is capable of. After her fashion Faux-pas last time, this year was the “golden moment” for Ash. The former beauty queen looked amazing in her golden Roberto Cavalli gown. Red lips and red nails added to her glamorous look. She has been walking the Cannes red carpet for the past 13 years now and it is just breath-taking to see the Indian beauty at her very best time and year again.
Sonam Kapoor
This Bollywood actress has been heating up the red carpet at Cannes with her show stopping looks. She is called Fashion Icon for a reason. Sonam can truly carry off what she wears elegantly. For her first appearance this year she opted for a vintage black Elie Saab gown and dazzled in her second traditional avatar by Anamika Khanna.
Mallika Sherawat
The sensuous Bollywood actress walked the carpet on the opening day of the festival. This was her fifth appearance at the coveted event. She inaugurated the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Pavilion at the Cannes 2014 on May 16. She carried herself in poise in an off shoulder red gown.
Freida Pinto
The gorgeous Freida Pinto has been making her red carpet appearance since 2011. This year at the Cannes Film Festival she walked for the screening of ‘The Homesman’. She appeared in a feathery gown by Michael Kors which got her a lot of attention.
Uday Chopra
It was his debut at the Film Festival this year. He joined Mallika Sherawat for the screening of ‘Grace of Monaco’, which is partly produced by Yash Raj Films Entertainment.
Kamal Hassan
It was his second appearance at the Film Festival this year. He led the official Indian Delegation to Cannes and also inaugurated the Pavilion along with other ambassadors.
Our Bollywood stars are definitely no less than their Hollywood friends. But they also know to make their own identity with their glamorous look and the confidence with which they carry their look. Hopewe see more Indian stars walking the Red Carpet at Cannes next year.
