Bollywood industry is the largest hindi film industry which produces 1000 or more films every year. From the time of the sound films to the present decade, this industry has a remarkably rich history of producing a variety of movies showcasing different spheres of Indian life, be it comedy, romance, thriller, horror or drama.
I would like to explore few changes that film industry has seen
First when the movies were made from the 1940’s to the 1960’s which was also called as ‘Golden Era’ where movies like Awaara and Mother India and few were made. This movies were the movies which revolved around the common man who faced struggles in life and the audience could also relate to them.
Secondly from the late 1960’s to the early 1980’s were a shift of storyline of the movies was distinctive.Movies like Bobby and Sholay were made which were full of action and romance in nature. The image of a Villain was created in this time.
Then the late 1980’s till the year 2000 saw the most diverse shifts in the procedure of making films. Advance technology was introduced the first si-fi movie Mr.India was released and was a huge hit. Lot of the movies were shot in abroad while this phase. Here romance and comedy was a great hit although.
And the last and the ongoing time started in late 2000s.which introduced lot of advance techniques in the making of a movie. From Koi Mil Gaya to Chennai Express movies have great visual effects rather than storyline.
As the target audience is changed the movies have got a shift from decades till now. Early the target audience was poor . but now as the target audience in urban has expanded being them middle or upper middle class they can afford to spent so much.
Most movies like too desire what the audience want to see in it .
The changing patterns in the movies are basically the result to change in the mindset of the audience.
