When it comes to cricket Virat Kholi is no doubt India’s top Batsmen. On Monday Virat Kholi won the Ceat International Cricketer of the year award while off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, the fastest player from the country to pick 100 test wickets bagged the Indian player of the year award 2013-14.Kohli was awarded best player in 2011-12 aswell. Besides even left-handed opener Shikhar Dhawan was named the International Player of the year.
Indians young U-19 cricketer Vijay Zol got the Young player of the year award. On the hand lifetime achievement awarded to legend Sayed Kirmani, one of the finest behind the stumps was also a part of the 1983 World-Cup match which Indian had won. Kirmani played in a total of 88 Tests matches and 49 ODIs. The Domestic Cricketer of the year went in the hands of the famous Robin Uthapa who was a part of the triumphant Karnataka Ranji Trophy team.
“It’s good to see an Indian cricketer and an fantastic player Virat Kholi win the main award and that to he has won it for the second time at such a young age should inspire other youngsters also to win the coveted award”- says Sunil Gavaskar former Indian skipper and chief adjudicator of Ceat Cricket Rating.
