Indian hockey team played a life saving game making it a 1-1 draw against Spain in the third match of the Rabobank hockey world cup 2014, played at the Kyocera stadium at The Hague in Netherlands on Thursday. This draw match resulted in both the teams getting one points each on the points table.
This time after facing two defeats before the Indian team looked composed and started well. India got its first chance of scoring in the form of penalty shot in the 28th minute of the game which was successfully converted by vice-captain Rupinder Pal Singh thus giving India a lead of 1-0.
Thus after scoring a goal and going in the safe side Indian team started applying defensive technique not letting Spain score any goal  till 33rd minute of the game. But unfortunately in the 34rd minute, Spain’s Roc Olivia scored an equalizer goal for the team through field goal and levelled the score making it 1-1.
It was PR Sreejesh who managed to make good saves in the second half. Every time Spain came on attacking mode, it was perfectly defended by Sreejesh thus saving the team from loosing. Then again in the 52nd minute of the game Indian team got the opportunity of scoring a goal in the form a penalty corner but unfortunately were not able to convert the same. On the other hand even Spain got the opportunity of scoring in the form of penalty corner but Sreejesh perfectly managed to save it as-well.
Thus Captain Sardar Singh is happy with team’s performance and says that they will perform better in the next match which is against Malaysia. We wish the Indian team all the very best!
