Striker Fred was able to score an early goal in the second half helping Brazil defeat Serbia with a score of 1-0 in its final warm-up before the world cup on Friday. It was noticed that Brazil was struggling a lot to a score a goal and even the fans were jeering the squad when finally striker Fred found the net from inside the area in the 58th minute in a nearly packed Morumbi stadium. Â Fred chested down a cross by Thiago Silva and hit a right footed shot resulting in a goal as he felt in between two Serbian defenders.
Coach Luiz Felipe Scolari used the same team that is expected to play in the opener against Croatia on Thursday. Nearly 70000 thousand people were present in the Morumbi stadium for the final warm-up and more than 61000 are expected for the opening match which will also be played in Sao Paulo.
Germany on the other hand beat Armenia with a score of 6-1 in its last friendly match before the world cup but unfortunately Germany had to lose its influential midfielder Marco Reus who sustained an injury in the left ankle after it got twisted. He was taken to the hospital immediately to determine the extent of injury thus making his participation in tournament hanging in the balance.Miroslav klose showcased has talent by taking over sole possession atop Germany’s all time scoring list by scoring his 69th goal during Germany’s thrashing Armenia.
Thus lot of action waits to witness when all the super teams clash in the battlefield in an aim to take the world cup title home!
