Apple Inc. has quietly launched the new iMac which is the cheapest till date, costs 79,900. Though not cheap in context to Indian PC users, Apple lovers may be cherished with this addition. The new iMac has a slower processor, lesser storage and lower-end graphics, but is INR 13,000 cheaper than all the current iMacs.
The new iMac has a 21.5 inch Full HD screen with dual-core 1.4GHz Intel i5 processor, 8GB RAM, 500 GB hard disk and Intel Graphics 5000 as basic configuration. The new iMac is priced at Rs. 79,900 and its US pricing is $1099.
Price raising configurations include:
1TB SATA, 1TB Fusion Drive or 256SSD storage options.
Connectivity options of the new iMac include 802.11ac Wi-Fi connectivity, four USB 3.0 ports, and two Thunderbolt ports, Bluetooth 4.0 and SXDC card slot.
The iMac family includes three 21.5 inch models with the new addition. All the iMacs offer 1920 x 1080 pixel display, Thunderbolt speakers and USB ports as mentioned above. On the outside, all iMacs are the same sleek all-in-one design, but internally, the newest model arguably has more in common with the recently refreshed MacBook Air, which has the same processor. The new model; is modestly configured than the other two in the family.
