 The FIFA World Cup has been ever exciting as expected. We have had some of the great matches till now and some of the great upsets that have been heartbreaking. But it is the very nature of the game that anyone can win, the underdogs have always shown the world by beating the powerful teams and shocked the world and that is what makes this game so exciting. Group stages are almost over and there have been a few massive teams who are out or some who might be sent back home in the coming few days.
The biggest upset has to be knocking out of Spain. The defending champions just won one game out of three. They were first destroyed by the Netherlands and then lost to Chille and their hopes of advancing into the next round were over. They did win the last game against the Aussies but it was a game that showed the world the end of an era. It was end of the high flying Spain’s tickitaka.
 Another upset or we can call it upsets will be from another tough group The group D. England a big team already out of the group was a bit disappointing for the English fans but amazingly either Uruguay or Italy will be sent back home too. It is quiet astonishing that all this damage is done by a small team who don’t even have popular superstars but were able to beat Uruguay and Italy and cause such a shock in the world of football.
This nation is Costa Rica, some Indian football fans might have never heard about it but yeah here is a surprise, they are leading the Group D and they have to play England while between Uruguay and Italy, whoever loses gets a ticket back home. Some other shockers would be Croatia’s defeat to Mexico and also Portugal’s possibility of getting knocked out if they don’t win big against Ghana.
Upset is the nature of this beautiful game and it is the reason this game being so difficult to predict. So let’s enjoy the remaining games of this world cup.
