Creativity…I don’t know why some people run away from that word? But I believe every person in some or the other way is creative. People who do not feel creative just lack that self-confidence. You might have done something creative and not even realize it. The bottom line is- Creativity is present but how do you get it to come out?

Small business owners find hard to make time for activities that help brain’s innovation muscle. As they have to complete their target set for 6 months, attend a networking event and many more. Do they really need to take time out from their busy and hectic schedule for creative muscle working? No not necessary… it is possible by incorporating brain-boosting and creativity increasing activities on-the-go in your daily routine. Here are the 3 activities every entrepreneurs should inculcate:

1) Give your ideas a home.

Idea-Bulb

As entrepreneur’s mind flows with lots and lots of ideas it’s hard enough to recall each one of them. Travelling in the train and suddenly an idea captures your mind..good..all you need to do is give that idea a home where it can live in. In this case you can type it in Evernote, or your phone’s notes app etc. Providing your ideas an inspiration to live is a great way to keep the creativity flow in your brain more often. Similarly, Backpack is a “to-do list” application with a lot of flexibility that makes capturing data and thoughts easy. A dashboard widget lets you see Backpack items on your desktop. Give yourself 30 minutes to an hour each week to review what you’ve collected and you might be surprised by what ideas you’ve come up with.

2) Travel by foot.

Very less of us travel by foot. Research shows that even a 20-minute stroll can clear your head and make room for fresh ideas. Many times we do not come up with ideas when we are forcing our mind to think hard.A clinical study at the University of Illinois at Urbana- Campaign  showed those engaged in walking demonstrate a net increase in the efficiency of the connections within the brain’s structures.

3) Interact with stimulating people and places.

Go to a bar or Cafe with people who make you feel relaxed and calm. Happy hours in bars may be trivial but it is a good place for interaction with other people and their ideas. If you work alone or by yourself then you can even set up your own happy hours..Fix a time for around 45-60 mins and go to a bar with sole intention of engaging more. Harvard-bases study suggests that sharing information about ourselves fires up the pleasure centers of our brains. More brain activity means more creativity!

Here’s a short formula we all need to know !

Information + Inspiration = Creation

Without information you cannot create properly. You need something to start with!

As a writer- topic, As a painter-canvas and as a musician-a note.

You get the idea. But it doesn’t stop there. Without inspiration, your work will fail to be creative and you’ll end up repeating the same content again!
