Relationships nowadays seem so complicated. You see status on Facebook like in a complicated relationship. What does it mean? A lot of people have different opinions about such a statement. Some are of the opinion that when they are in a relationship and they have certain complications like fights or they aren’t sure of a future it means it’s a complicated relationship. A friend of mine of mine when asked about his relationship status says I am not single but I am in a relationship and it’s complicated. Apparently he has this friend of his who he really likes but he cannot commit to her because of his past experiences of a bad relationship. He says they both are best friends more than friends and less than lovers. Sometimes he says it’s far more than a relationship of a lover that they share but they can’t really figure out giving it a name hence, according to him he is in a relationship with that girl and it’s complicated. Well this all seems even more complicated to understand as everyone has a different thought process about relationships. Relationships nowadays are not like what we used to see and hear from our grandparents and parents may be even our siblings.
The meaning and the essence of a relationship has changed a lot in coming years. There are different kinds of relationship sisterly, brotherly, the relationship between parents and children. The most talked about relationship would be between a boy and a girl, a man and woman, a man to man, woman to woman. Well after the 377 act that had come up all this gay marriages, gay rights, lesbians and being with the same sex had become legal but it also got ruled out. Relationships are not only about a man and a woman but even about falling in love and being with the opposite sex for the rest of your lives or temporary. How do we look at people being in a relationship with the same sex? Is it normal? Sure, it seems a little different from what we have been following that a man and woman are to be one. Churches banned and are against gay marriages. Genesis 5:2 He created them male and female and blessed them. And he named them “Mankind” when they were created. They believe God had made ADAM and EVE to show that man and woman are meant to be together and they are meant to live together and be fruitful and have children. In Hindi there is a saying ‘phulo, fhalo, aur khush raho’ the holy bible also believes in the same where it is said ‘be fruitful and multiply. Genesis 1:28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground’’. All this states what God wants and in one of the teaching in one of the classes that I attended the deacon questioned us how on earth will reproduction or bringing in a new life happen when two men be together? He says this is just a lustful desire. This is how the animals live. Humans are different from animals therefore gay marriages are not allowed according to the church and priests. Who has the answers to this? Things have changed so much. People follow ethics, but ethics is what you feel is right.
You cannot force peoples liking to change, if they like a person from the same sex so be it. Apart from all this there is something called as “FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS?”
This exist in India, youngsters who have watched this movie know what it is exactly about movies like “no strings attached” too have shown a part of this. We all are under the impression that this isn’t our Indian culture. But this is happening in India too. A lot of people are into friends with benefits that we call ‘FWB’. Youngsters even married people are into friends with benefits. Basically it is a friend with whom one has an occasional and casual sexual relationship. It is very common today. It is a part of the so called MODERN CULTURE. Relationships are no more the beautiful feeling of love, care, affection and friendship. It’s more about getting straight to the point and just satisfying your sexual desires. If gay marriages are wrong then what do you have to say about this how right does this seem? The beauty and purity of a relationship and the essence of it is lost in FWB. This shows we do not have a self-conscience. It doesn’t prick us when we keep doing these kinds of acts. As a youngster it may seem to be fun, when you grow up to be an adult a parent of a child you would certainly not like your children to fall into all this. And what are we proving by doing all this? Relationships should be genuine. If you think you’re enjoying your life you must give it a second thought there’s more to life than living such a life.
Relationships are become a casual affair these days. A lot of men and women don’t really need a relationship but need help. By help I hope readers have understood what I actually mean. They aren’t really serious about having you in their lives but just want you temporarily to satisfy them. Movies inspire us to get into a relationship but be careful what kind of movies you watch the adult movies are really fun to watch but remember they are just movies and you don’t have to make them your reality. Lastly, the most romantic and lovely relationships still exist. This is because people understand that a relationship is between two people and not three or more. They learn to share their joys, sorrows, dreams, ambitions and have good intimacy. Such is a healthy relationship where you know the value and the dignity of a relationship. You maintain the dignity, the respect and the honesty of a relationship. Relationship can give you a new meaning in life. Enjoy the power and beauty of a healthy relationship.
