The international break is over and the Barclays Premier League has started again with the 4th match day and the 1st match after transfer window’s deadline end. Defending Champions Manchester City visited the Gunners as they look to get the confidence back after their home defeat to Stoke City while Arsenal who have not been at the top had to challenge City to show their title credentials. The transfer deadline was over with Arsenal making a significant signing in Manchester United’s homeboy Danny Welbeck for mere 16m pounds. While Man City haven’t made any signing at the deadline.
It was Arsenal who started really well and amazingly it was new boy Danny Welbeck who hit the post in one on one situation with City’s goalkeeper Joe Hart. Manchester City finally got a break through in a beautiful counter attack influenced by Jesus Navas as he found Sergio Aguero who scored on the first shot by Man City in the match. It was 1-0 as the first half ended where Arsenal dominated but it was City who got the break through.
In the second half it was Manchester City who was dominating the game and it looked impossible for Arsenal to score but it was Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere who showed a brilliant piece of footwork and scored a beautiful shot passed Joe Hart and then the game started to get really interesting. Alexis Sanchez was arguably the best player for Arsenal in the match and it was he who scored the second goal with a great volley he showed why Arsene bought him with 3 goals in 3 games. As the game was going on City was trying to score an equalizer and an unlikely source in Demichellis scored from a corner being completely unmarked in Arsenal’s poor defensive setup. The game ended 2-2, with Fernandinho being probably the best player for Man City and Alexis Sanchez playing a vital role for Arsenal as both Premier League clubs go to play the European Football in the midweek
Arsenal and City will be happy with a point considering both will be at Germany playing Champions League Games against top teams as Man City face off Bayern Munich while Borussia Dortmund invite Arsenal.
