Mummer’s Day is celebrated on 26th December 2014. Mummer’s Day is also known as Darkie Day. Mummer’s Day is observed every year on Boxing Day and New year’s Day in Padstow, Cornwall. Mummer’s Day is an ancient Cornish midwinter celebration of the people of Penzance during which people darken or paint their skin or use marks to disguise themselves.
