Should Projects And Assignments Be Banned From The Indian Education System?

If you ask a student are you okay with not doing homework his answer obviously will be a NO. First let us see what are projects and assignments. They are an additional work given to students to improve their skills and find out how good they are at doing something. Have we tried to analyze the consequences if there are no projects and assignments given to students? Then students will be as good as a rusted machine. So there should be no ban on projects and assignments at all. Let us once look at the effects of banning assignments and projects…

1. The students won’t at all grow as they are not taking those extra efforts to prove themselves.

2. The creative minds will get stunted as there is no platform to express themselves for example there are many students whose work comes into limelight due to their projects and if that is only banned then their creativity will remain wasted.

3. Students won’t take any efforts as they take at least for the marks given to them due to projects and assignments

4. We won’t get our great minds and personalities which we get due to their work

5. Those students who are doing something due to projects will not do that and then you don’t know how their future will be.

There shouldn’t be ban but there are certain changes that should be brought in the pattern of assignments and projects….

1. The projects given should be a little motivating one. The topics should be interesting.
2. They should not put a load on the students.
3. It is important on the part of teachers to appreciate the good work.
4. The students should be left on to decide which platform they want to show their work (Model, Presentation etc)
5. The project should be an interactive and practical not simply writing.

It should be done in such a way that students do not only do it for marks but as an Interest for them to learn something new. On the part of the students if taken interest everything is beautiful and without interest everything is boring so do not handle a project as a work do it like you enjoy things you do so you don’t find it boring and a headache…It is important to take interest guys. Do not take it as a burden but as something that will teach you something then see how enjoyable Projects and Assignments are.
