Name – Anushree Agarwal

College Name – Mithibai College

Course Name – BMS

Rank in TY Sem V : 1st in college

GPA / Percentage: 7.0 / 83.86%

1) Tell us about yourself?

I have always been very attracted to the field of business and management. My aim is to set up my own business enterprise sometime in the future and BMS seemed to be a logical step towards my goal.

2) How does it feel to be a Topper of the college in TY Sem V exams?

It feels amazing. The overall marks and grades itself were quiet satisfying. The rank was like a cherry on the cake.

3) Whom will you credit your success to?

I would credit my success to my parents and teachers who have extended their support and motivation to me at all times.

4) Did you start preparing from the first day of your TY Sem V?

No. It is very difficult to get a good level of concentration on studying when the exams are not in the near future. I tend to study faster under some time pressure, especially in case of theory subjects.

5) How did you study for Sem V?

Attending lectures and doing the homework did the trick for FM and SSF. I just had to prepare for the theory which I generally do by reading the matter a few times and memorising the key points. Lectures and class tests proved to be of great help in overall preparations.

6) Which are the easy subjects in Sem V?

I personally found FM and SSF easy but I think thats more to do with my love for finance or any quantitative subject than finding the subject matter easy.

7) Any special way of writing the answers? Do you write answers in bullet points or in paragraphs?

I write all answers in bullet points as writing paragraphs is very time taking and most of the time it is difficult to highlight the gist of the matter. However if a bullet point is not self explanatory, I do explain it in 2 or 3 lines.

8) How do you crack case studies in theory and practical subjects?

It is pretty easy to crack case studies in practical subjects as they’re quiet straightforward. For theory subjects I read the questions first and then go through the case study, so I know what I’m looking for.

9) Did you draw any diagram in any paper? Is it mandatory? Does it help to get more marks?

It is mandatory to draw diagrams for some answers. I draw them only where they are necessary. I don’t think unnecessary diagrams help in getting marks. Overall paper presentation should be good though.

10)Any specific study pattern adopted i.e. timetable / how many hours per subject per day etc.?

I don’t follow any specific study pattern.

11) How do you fight against mood swings and distractions during exam preparation?

I finish a particular set of notes and take a break before moving on to the next one. Keeping small targets at a time helps a lot in minimising distractions while studying.

12) If you are made the Vice Chancellor of Mumbai University, what changes would you like to initiate in Indian education system?

I would definitely want the system to be more student-friendly in approach as any work to be done via the university is very time taking and it is difficult for the students to take follow ups or give feedbacks of any kind.

13) Many students prepare sincerely but constantly live under fear that they are not from big college / not from English medium and eventually lose confidence. What message would you like to these students?

As the university tests all students at the same level, I don’t think they have anything to worry about. Just keep working hard and have confidence in your abilities!

14) Through this struggle and success, what have you learned? What is the wisdom of life and competition?

Giving your 100% in all circumstances is what matters the most. It leaves you with no regrets.

15) Your feedback for BMS.co.in?

Bms.co.in is a site I have been constantly dependant on for regular updates over the three years and I appreciate the effort put in by them to make all important information available to the BMS students at all times.
