After graduating in commerce, I did my M.Com, L.L.B, DFM, GDC & A. Further, doing my M. Phil, M.A in Economics, I am currently doing my P.H.D.
I have three years corporate experience while presently, I’m a legal consultant and having an accounts writing personal firm.
Tell us something about your college
It’s one of the best colleges. SIWS believes in grooming rather than teaching. It evolves immature undergraduate students into responsible professional students, churning out the best qualities in them. Results are always very close to 100%, being about 92-93%.
When did you join this profession? What inspired you to choose this line?
I joined in 2006 in SIWS. As a tradition, past students join in, they’re given a chance by the college to be the faculty and teach. More than a job, teaching is a passion for me.
As a Coordinator, do you also teach any subjects? If yes, which subjects you teach and which you love the most?
Yes, I teach Law and Economics for FY and SY. I teach the TYs too. Finance is my core subject. Also, I love economics the most.
How are the roles and responsibilities of a Coordinator different from that of a
faculty? Do you like being a Faculty or a Coordinator? Which helps you to connect more with students?
With extreme authority comes extreme responsibility. Success is celebrated in public but defeats have to be absorbed in isolation. Personally speaking, no, there is no difference as work responsibility is the same. Also, they did not make me feel different as subordinates. Also, either ways, you connect with students through PR skills.
Who in your life has influenced the most?
In my life, first was my mother who taught me the divine quality of patience. Then, our Sailaja Ravindranath, our Vice-Principal who taught me that there is a solution to all the problems. And, last but not the least, my colleagues, who in all ups and downs were there besides me, and supported me way more during the downs.
What should BMS/Management education mean to a student?
When they enter BMS, they’re getting into a fun-loving and friendly environment. As and when they progress, development takes place. After graduation, they become totally experienced to handle stress with light-heartedness.
Tell us something about your college fests/events and extra-curricular activities?
Our fest Ehlaan, which is a BMS and BBI initiative, believes in social causes. This year it was ‘giving a bit of life back to senior citizens’. A Qawali concert was kept especially for them. Also, there was ‘giving a bit of light to the blind’ for which we will be conducting a workshop at The Blind School, Worli and for which we are donating a part of our donations to the blind school.
Also we have PRISM, which s a BMS initiative. It is basically a management event which holds a seminar to enhance professional capabilities of BMS students and expands their visions and horizons.
Do you believe that it should be made compulsory for students to manage both
studies and be a part of college fests/events?
Absolutely, Yes. Along with studies, students should be able to manage the extracurricular activities like college fests, events, etc. They learn a lot from them such as they are trained for crowd management, food management, stress management, event management, Public Relations, Financial management, sponsorship handling, etc. So we feel that studies as well as fests and events are essential for students for their overall development.
Tell us something about your college students’ performances?
Academics is always above board, nearly 100% results are achieved. Extraordinary sports are performed. District level chess is played by some students. We have also been got Best College awards by VES in the past. They inherit the legacy to the coming generation. It is just a family-like environment.
What are your future plans for the college?
We are going for NAAC the coming academic year.
As a person, what is your mission/aim in life?
My mission is basically to give back to the society, some work that can actually be remembered.
Does your college provide any placement assistance to BMS students?
Yes, placement assistance from renowned companies like NIIT, Wipro, ITsource, IndiaCan, J. P. Morgan, HDFC, etc are provided full-fledged to the students.
What are the prospects after BMS?
The scope is very vast. The students can get into commercial sectors. BMS makes a person the jack of all. Business Intelligence is a very new field. It’s now in all the multi-national companies. One can go into entrepreneurship. A new field such as Project planner is now there which comes under Portfolio Management. Also, if a student aspires to study further he can opt for MMS, MBA, etc.
What message would you like to give to BMS students?
Not just BMS, but to all students, I’d like to say that “there’s no substitute for hardwork”.
always should listen and respect ur elders success is always urs…..
it is very true that hardwork should always be solely and wholely our own’s….thats just bcoz even if the results are good without hardwork its of no use bcoz we m8 nt knw its value without hardwork….and the thing achieved without hardwork does not be with us for long time….so never let urself down without hardwork n try ur level best til u achieve ur goal and ambitions….
