Tell us something about your college
It is one of the reputed colleges in Mumbai for providing good coaching and faculties to the students. The friendly environment helps the students to get adjusted very easily. The college plays a very important role in moulding the career of the students.
When did you join this profession? What inspired you to choose this line?
I had a passion for teaching. After becoming a C.A., I could have joined the corporate world but my passion for teaching made me to choose this career.
As a Coordinator, do you also teach any subjects? If yes, which subjects you teach and
which you love the most?
Yes, I teach subjects like financial management, accountancy, taxation, portfolio management. Yes, I love to teach the subject like taxation.
How are the roles and responsibilities of a Coordinator different from that of a
faculty? Do you like being a Faculty or a Coordinator? Which helps you to connect more with students?
Responsibility of a Co-ordinator is much more than the responsibilities of the faculty. Co-ordinator plays an important role in overall smooth conduct. He/She is a link between students and the management and I like to tackle problems in many situations and it has also helped me out in developing overall good relation with the students.
Who in your life has influenced the most?
Our college Principal DR .MRS SUDHA VYAS MADAM
What should BMS/Management education mean to a student?
It is a professional course which builds a strong base for the student in the areas like bank management, marketing management etc. Regular assignments, project works helps the students in building up their confidence and also it enables them to judge and decide their specialization field for post graduation studies.
Tell us something about your college fests/events and extra-curicular activities?
“Lahme” is the festival which is celebrated in middle of December in the college. The students of our college do actively participate and conduct the event and also backed many prizes in various events.
Do you believe that it should be made compulsory for students to manage both
studies and be a part of college fests/events?
NO , I think participation in college events should be of choice not by compulsion .
Tell us something about your college students’ performances?
Our college students are very active. There are certain students who are multi-talented and the one student of TY-BMS is a state player in the foot ball team. Recently a FYBMS student Hoshang had got the “Best Student of the Year” award from the college .It’s the first time that a self financing courses student got the best student of the year award. There are various active and energetic students who had represented the college in inter-college festival and won many prizes.
What are your future plans for the college?
To provide the best results of the students and achieve the glory for the college.
As a person, what is your mission/aim in life?
To be successful in the career and I wish all the students who are the part of K.J.Somaiya College should be a successful person and pursue their further studies. I aim to be remembered as a person who has moulded different students’ career.
Does your college provide any placement assistance to BMS students?
Yes, we do provide placement assistance to the students.
What are the prospects after BMS?
The 3 Years BMS Programme provides professional coaching which helps BMS students to get easily placed in the corporate world and also helps them in PG studies like MMS.
What message would you like to give to BMS students?
Definitely as a college student, enjoyment is often a priority but my message to all the students who have entered in the management field that firstly you should make a strong career because a successful career is more enjoyable and a great achievement for you in the whole life. So study well, work hard and get a better future for tomorrow’s rising world.
