Tell us about yourself and your college:-
I am very thankful for this wonderful opportunity bestowed upon me by BMS.co.in. and would like to convey that this web page is a wonderful platform for every BMS student to express his/her views, aims and aspirations on the wonderful career opportunities which this course offers.
I am currently in my TY BMS and am proud to say that, though I was an average student during my school days, it was only after joining BMS, which gave me the right direction in developing me mentally, enriching my knowledge and setting me on a more fulfilling course, which I am sure will contribute a lot in enhancing my life and career.
My college, though not a very reputed one, has got a very good faculty, which takes special efforts to make the subjects interesting, and a well deserved credit is to be given to them, for taking pains in making us students understand the subject thoroughly and earn good marks in each subject.
How did you plan to get into BMS?
Initially, I thought of joining Commerce for graduation. But I was not sure what I would like to pursue after that. But, ultimately I chose BMS, because it was more or less a professional course, which offers a wide spectrum in the Management Cadre and which will enhance one’s career prospects after graduation and also further studies will be much easier and fruitful.
Is the BMS syllabus just what you had expected it to be?-
Yes, though BMS is a tough course, it is a course which is very much what I expected it to be. It is just not an ordinary graduation course, but in one which every student has to put his maximum time and efforts in order to succeed and come up in life.
Were you expecting to top in the exams? To whom would you credit this success to?
Not much of an expectation was there, but my sincere efforts and the guidance of my professors paid off well. The entire credit can be given to them, for having groomed me in my weaker subjects, making them more interesting and enabling me to grasp the subject easily.
Did you start preparing right from the first day of your BMS?
No, I did not I was very punctual in my attendance and did not miss a single lecture.
Seriously, only this contributed to my success, though I studied very little at home.
How did you allot time to different subjects? (Did you follow a self-made timetable? And how many hours did you study per day? Had you joined any coaching classes or was it just self-study?)
It was just a self study. No coaching classes. The entire day in the college offered me a wide knowledge of each and every subject and also the Net Facility provided by our college contributed to my getting excellent marks. I seriously put in more efforts when it was only 3 weeks for the exams to go. I used to wake up at 4.00am and study. This is the best time to study since whatever I study during this time, typically I would find the same topics to be answered in my exams and therefore, I could answer them very easily.
Did you participate in college fests or extra-curricular activities? (If yes, please mention the details) Do you think a BMS student can manage both studies and extra activities?
Yes, to some extent. I attended some fests. Best was the NM College and Mitibai college’s fests. The best event I got a chance to be a part was the Indian court trial where we had to wrack our brains to solve around 40 case studies in a group of 4. BMS students can manage both but it depends on how he manages his time as this course demands you to be constantly on your toes to achieve maximum.
Today, we often come across students committing suicide out of failure, depression or tension of exams. What do you have to say about this? Did you use any special techniques for stress management?
It being a very competitive world, students gets naturally stressed, which leads to depression and tensions. One way to overcome this is to attend all the lectures wholeheartedly and put the best efforts in studies.
Industrial Visits – are they really informative for bms students? Which industries have you visited?
Definitely Industrial Visits contribute very much, in that, a student gets to know how an industry runs and he gets to know about the various departments and the amount of integration, efforts and teamwork which each department contributes to make the company a success. I had been to Parle biscuit factory, Siyaram Mills, Coca Cola Factory at Wada etc to name a few.
Do you think a BMS student is more flooded with assignments, projects and internal exams?
Sometimes, I do feel the burden, because the time is very limited in between each Semester, and I have to take extra efforts to complete assignments, projects and internals.
Do you like being busy with projects, presentations, assignments and internal exams? Or you would like to be enjoying out with friends all that time instead?
It is quite interesting and challenging being busy with the projects, presentations, assignments and internal exams, because I have a genuine interest in the subjects offered under this course. But some time should also be allotted for one to enjoy with friends. So even though I devote much of my time to studies, I also find some time to enjoy with my friends.
What changes would you like to bring in management education in India?
I would like that the duration of each Semester be extended in such a way that the Management Students are able to get a deep knowledge in each subject. This is because at present only about 4 months is devoted seriously in the teaching of subjects which is too short a time, looking at the vast portion and even the faculty does not have the time to teach the subject in a way that the students get a thorough knowledge on the subject.
What message would you like to give to the coming batches of BMS students?
The message is “Work hard to achieve success”.
What are your future plans?
I would like to do MBA in Marketing from a reputed College. Moreover I have keen interest in IT and I would like to enhance my knowledge in Software and Hardware Development, Web designing, etc.

Keep up the good work and show the way to enlighten the students so that they achieve their goals in the chosen field. Sometimes it becomes difficult to access this Website. It would be nice, if something can be done to prevent this so that the students who go through your site will get a good inspiration from the Ex-students who have contributed their experiences and other things.
