- Tell us about yourself, your background, why did you join BMS and what do you plan to do after BMS?
I decided to join BMS Course as I wanted to pursue my career as an investment banker in the coming future. I won’t be restricting myself to the degree of BMS. I will be doing various certification from the finance domain and my prime focus is a global recognition being “CFA”.
- How does it feel to be a Topper of the college in Semester exams?
I can’t define the happiness in words about what I have felt in making this thing come true.
- Whom will you credit your success to?
I dedicate this achievement to my parents, my beloved friends and most importantly my teacher VIPIN SABOO.
- Which coaching classes had you joined? How has it helped you in the exams preparation?
I had joined VIPIN SABOO TUTORIALS (VST). Mr. Vipin Saboo helped me with his categorically stunning strategies of how to excel and leave behind a benchmark through detailed focusing on various topics and making the learning much more fun as compared to any ideal way of learning.
- Did you start preparing from the first day of your TYBMS?
Yes, I started from DAY 1 of my TY-BMS to achieve this appreciation.
- How did you study for Sem VI? (Share some tips / advice for each subject)
It was my custom designed strategy of making a balanced time management of defining appropriate time to subjects where I needed more detailing.
- Which are the easy subjects in Sem VI?
International Marketing and Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management
- Any special way of writing the answers? Do you write answers in bullet points or in paragraphs?
I do write the answers in bullet points. I also do underline the important term/sentence to highlight it. This makes the answer-sheet far more presentable.
- How do you crack case studies in theory and practical subjects?
I constantly keep solving different case theories from previous year’s question papers. I also follow the case study format given to me by Vipin Saboo Sir which has helped me to a great extent.
- Did you draw any diagram in any paper? Is it mandatory? Does it help to get more marks?
I do draw diagrams in the form of tabular chart (Vertical or Horizontal) as suiting the explanation in the best possible way. It can be compared with that of a “Cherry on the cake thing” which does lead to score more marks in the examination.
- Any specific study pattern adopted i.e. timetable / how many hours per subject per day etc.?
Yes, I did have schedule designed with the help of my teacher at VST. My schedule not only covered allocation of time to various subjects but also to other activities like evening walk, yoga, meditation, reading blogs online pertaining to ongoing financial scenario, etc.
- How do you fight against mood swings and distractions during exam preparation?
The only reason for mood swings and distractions is from a source which hammers the well-being of a mind. Therefore, I have always kept myself far off from any such elements that may distract my focus from the studies.
- If you are made the Vice Chancellor of Mumbai University, what changes would you like to initiate in Indian education system?
This is a question where it is practically not possible to express my views on the same in one or two sentences. My main agenda for this would be focusing on infrastructure facilities as well as technological advancement as practiced in the western countries like “The United States of America.” This would bring about a massive change in production of extremely skilled professionals across sectors in the Indian market.
- Many students prepare sincerely but constantly live under fear that they are not from big college / not from English medium and eventually lose confidence. What message would you like to these students?
As rightly quoted by Shakespeare, “What’s there in name?” Name or mode of language should never be criteria for fear. Companies in the market will adopt all the talents matching their requirement if you have gone above and beyond of what is expected from one in their respective colleges. Further, Non-English medium students should strictly devote time, every day in their schedule for mastering their hands on English Language. This is a must needed thing which will remove all the fears dwelling in their minds.
- Through this struggle and success, what have you learned? What is the wisdom of life and competition? What is your message to the upcoming BMS students?
I have learned the best lesson of carrying myself with a lot more discipline, professionalism and also learned to always maintain the goodwill of own like any other corporates do in the market. Maintaining goodwill of own is essential for sustainable competitive advantage in Indian or any other market globally. My message to other BMS students is to do the same.
- Any interesting experience / memory / favourite moments of being a student of VST which you would like to share with the audience?
Every moment spent at VST was memorable. Vipin Sir was really helpful and co-operative throughout and the environment was very positive and friendly.
