I have many goals that I have set for myself over a course of my life. Most of these goals I have set, I have achieved with hard work and dedication. One of my many goals I have set for myself after completion of my HSC was to attain a degree in Business Management Studies. I gradually took a first step towards my goal and took admission at Bharat College of Commerce and Science.
Being a fresher in this field, all what I knew about it was that it is a self financing course where I will be taught the importance of working as a unit with other employees and deal with different personalities at work in the interest of achieving a higher goal.
During BMS, my favorite BMS Professor is the Course coordinator Ms. Anju Ailsinghani, an educationalist who has specialized in B.com, M.com, B.ED, PGDBA (Human Resource Management). She has been teaching subjects like Foundation of Human Skills, Business Communication and Business Environment since 5-6 years in this field. Ms.Anju Ailsinghani not only teaches us the textbook-based theoretical chapters, but she also takes helps of technological aids to teaching like presentations, video screenings, debates, case study solving, quiz and other such activities
She is a strongest inspiration for me as she has changed my vision towards this field. She made me know that Business students are not only taught the basic principles of Management in text books, they are also given real life examples to examine so that they can bring these principles to life. She is very committed to her work. She is the one who is impartial and pays personal attention towards every student.
She teaches with very ease, and has perfect knowledge regarding the entire subject. My most learning experience from her was our industrial visit to Infosys, Pune which was possible just because of her as she insisted the college committee to allow for the visit. I had a mindset that this visit will just be an ordinary one but I was wrong as it was the most enthusiastic and valuable one.
22nd Sep. 2012, my first industrial visit to Infosys was the one that I can never forget. It is world’s leader in providing I.T consulting and software services to the global organization. The first session after the visit was ‘‘SPARK” where she shared her knowledge about Infosys with the students. She gave us an example of Mr. Narayan Murthy who was an ordinary man who started this company with just five computers in small rooms with his fellow mates and faced many ups and downs to reach this destination and today just because of his hardwork he has built a great empire all over the world. These words of her have inspired me a lot and gave me power to walk beyond my career…..!
I felt really challenged and assure myself that I will work hard and give my best and very soon reach the ladder of success. I feel it is not necessary that I can be like her only by being in the same token; I will be a successful manager and still follow her ethics and integrate it with my passions in life.
I still remember when I was small I heard from my granny the story of Alexander who lost his war and locked himself in a cave and there he got inspired by a small spider who was again and again trying to build his web. It taught him a lesson “Try and Try till you succeed”. I wish her blessings be with me and I reach the greatest heights.
