Even the books on historical mythology has revealed the most precious relationship of guru-shishya and true to Drona’s blessing, Eklavya is still praised as the most loyal and brave student in the epic of Mahabharata. Be it the earlier times or the modern era teachers have been and always will be holding the highest regard for students in their lives.
It’s clear that teaching cannot operate in a bubble that ignores the world around it. Even if a teacher doesn’t put creativeness as an objective, it must leave an impact. Indeed! The skill of capturing the world and sharing hundreds of facts isn’t a cakewalk. The duties and responsibilities of a teacher thus extend much beyond the confines of the text books, the prescribed syllabus and even the class room. The teacher’s mission is not to merely teach the subject but to mould human destinies.
A teacher who made a huge impression on my life is Dr. Manjari Tiwari. She is the one who has been giving birth to her exact replicas since past thirteen years not just by imparting theoretical knowledge but also by inculcating the immense qualities of civilized human beings in her students. She has been incredibly honest and transparent in her dealings with children which incalculably promoted easy learning and provided them with an interactive environment.
Dr. Tiwari has been an ideal teacher who considered learning as an ongoing process and thus made her remarkable position by being the youngest faculty selected for IIT, wherein she didn’t restrict her profession to mere teaching but also sponsored two of her students so that they excel in their lives and can construct their future on a concrete base.
As quoted by Ralph Waldo Emerson, “The greatest homage we can pay to truth is to use it.”Having infinite faith in these words Dr. Tiwari is one professor who cannot fake her profession and has it all to keep herself loyal in maintaining the authencity of her work. Stressing upon rationality and practicality of the subject she does take an extra edge to deliver herself to the best way that could be defined. She is a person who gets motivated by criticism and that makes her strive harder to strike the iron only when it is hot. Keeping herself constantly updated by market happenings she moulds her teaching style in order to impart every bit of goings –on globally.
Prof. Tiwari is a true perfectionist of her thoughts and strongly believes in making her students learn something new each day. She has been to technical university, has worked for UGC projects, also has put pen to paper over many national and international journals and articles, holds the record of being the youngest PhD holder of Banaras Hindu University. Not just that she has been a keynote speaker and even has been broadcasted on radio for her noteworthy achievements.
Even praises would be less as she is the one who truly justifies the statement “Guru is greater than God” as Guru only shows the path to preach God. She is a committed teacher who can even work off schedule in order to adapt to the diverse needs of the students. Ability to bridge the teacher –student gap has made her distinctive from other professors. She possess a soft corner too considering the right amount of discipline required in her profession which makes her an idyllic inspiration not only to students but also to fellow professors.
