With the great end to day 1 at OVALS ground in Churchgate, it was now time for day 2. The events lined up for the day were Box Cricket, Ring Football, Malaysian football, Volleyball and Tug of War. It was going to be a long day for the students starting from 10am to 6pm. As all were outdoor events the college campus was cleaned by the students and all the arrangements were made. It was going to be a hectic day ahead for all of them
And finally the day arrived and the clock strike 10am. The campus was full of students from various city colleges. The settlement on the ground was made in such a way that all the events were going to be conducted simultaneously. As soon as I entered the premises of the college, all I could see was end number of students spread all over. With some warming up for the matches and the other making strategies of how would they play. The day had just started and all of them were at their best. And then I heard the announcements of Box Cricket being started at the other end of the campus. I was astonished by seeing the arrangements made by the students of the college. They had cleaned the ground and had created a suitable pitch for the players. It was match time and the players were ready on both the pitches. Then I heard the second announcement of ring football being started at the start of the campus and I rushed towards there to have a look. The refree was whistling and the players were coordinating amongst them. The entire players were ready with their jersey’s and studs. It was football time and I loved it. Everyone was.
Well friends the events don’t stop here. There were many to go. Volley ball was going to start and so was Malaysian football. And all began with a bash. As all the events were outdoor events and the students had drenched in sweat to play. None of them backed up. They were all enjoying. With audience in their sunglasses and hat were supporting them. There was a sports fever all over. So do you think that was it only sports that was a part of Shikhar 2013? Then I am sorry to say this but you are wrong.
Along with the sports events that were going on there were many one minute game that were conducted to entertain the audience. It doesn’t stop here. On the 4th floor of the college building there were indoor events gaming events like FIFA 13 and many more. Even games like carrom and table tennis were conducted in the other part of the building. It was a total entertainment, fun and enjoyment period for all the spectators out there. If you weren’t a part of it then trust me friends you did miss a great opportunity. I was lucky enough to be a part of it!
