An Interview with Neha Gangwani, S.K. Somaiya College TYBMS Sem 5 Topper 2013 (79%)
Hello everyone! I am Neha Gangwani. I am a simple girl who loves to read, dance and listen music. I like to meet new people and make friends. I believe in enjoying life to the fullest as moments passed never come back again. Currently I am pursuing my TYBMS from S.K. Somaiya College and I love this field to the core. I strongly believe “Just do your best and leave the rest ;)” The credit of my success goes to firstly my parents without whom my life is incomplete and also my teachers who supported me and guided me everytime. I didn’t prepare from 1st day but whenever I studied, I did it with full concentration. I hadn’t made any fixed timetables nor had fixed hours of studying but I used to do basic reading of textbooks first and then learn. It doesn’t depend on how many number of hours you give to your studies but depends on how you give your heart to studies 😉 For any BMS student, it is very important to understand the basic concepts rather than just mugging up answers for hours which doesn’t work. Basic reading of textbooks helps a lot and for practical subjects like Finance, understanding the base and method is important to solve the sums easily.
For theory subjects like HRM, Service Sector and Business Ethics, read the textbook, understand the concepts and give good examples. Always mention conclusion which will paraphrase your answer in few lines and be to the point. Write and describe only what is required. Just don’t mug up, you will get bugged up!! I had joined Coaching classes for practical subjects like Logistics and Finance.I am a Licensed Insurance Adviser from ICICI Prudential. I have also undertaken freelance projects for Samsung and many other companies. Apart from this, I have also done 1 Ad-shoot in my SYBMS. Participating in a College fests and events is a must for Management Students as that’s what makes us different from normal BCOM Graduates 😉 Projects and Assignments make “BMS” and hence it will help increase our confidence and communication skills. Industrial Visits also help us to get knowledge about the insides of the companies and they are fun-break out of studies and normal life. I feel studies should be coupled with little enjoyment so that it builds our interest and doesn’t frustrate us. I am planning to take up JOB after BMS and simultaneously complete my Masters after which I wish to become a lecturer.
