An Interview with Rahul R. Gupta, TYBMS Sem 5 Topper, Nirmala Memorial Foundation College of Commerce and Science (75.67%)

I am a fun loving guy who likes to make new friends, chatting and listening music. I was not at all expecting to top in the exams and I would credit my success to my parents, teachers and my friends and without their support I won’t be able to stand here today. When it comes to preparation for exams, I did not study too much from the beginning but only focused on the lectures provided by the teachers in my college and classes and had short revision at home. There is no specific time allotted to any particular subject and I just try to improve my writing skills and speed to complete papers on time. I studied 1-2 hours per day with full interest having no break. Special guidelines according to me for getting good marks in the subjects are “write only those things which the question demands and not more than that and if possible try to write in points”. For the practical subjects like FM and SSF, read the questions carefully before attempting and then try to solve which you know first. I had joined coaching classes for FM and SSF and I think there is a need to join these classes because of not having enough knowledge for these subjects and Professor in colleges also have time limit to cover various types of questions which may come in exams. I like to participate in extra-curricular activities in my college like in Essay writing, Management training program etc. and I think BMS students are more capable in managing both the work than others. Committing suicide by a student shows “INABILITY TO FACE THE TRUTH” and have no guts to accept the challenges coming in their path. I usually did not take any kind of stress in studies and whenever I felt so, I tried to chillout with my friends. Industrial visits should be increased for BMS students as it provides a lot of information on present scenario going on in the corporate world. I visited the “BISLERI” plant in Andheri last semester. I recommend BMS should have more practical work like visiting more industries and Management quizzes rather than having handwritten assignments and projects or internal exams. My message to our next batch of BMS students is “Have positive approach towards your work and whatever you do ultimately leads to winning the race”. I am planning to do an internship under reputed firms and also pursue my MBA program after BMS. My recommendation is try to also open a website like BMS.co.in for different self financing courses like BAF,BBI,Bsc.it etc which ultimately help in their future…
