Tell us more about yourself.

The most difficult question to answer, anyways myself Harshesh Shah, very passionate for Marathons and Events. Was a navy cadet for 3 years. A professional marathoner.  Now a management student looking forward to be the Entrepreneur in near future.

Were you expecting to top in the exams? To whom would you credit this success to?

I was expecting good marks not a rank but it is God’s grace that I ranked. I credit my success to my friends with whom we used to do group studies and discuss the BMS relevant topics and my mentor Prof.  Jhabak who is the biggest inspirational model for me

Did you prepare religiously from day One or A few weeks before the exams?

No, It was a balanced and continuous learning, discussing and sharing process with friends which made me flourish in my exams, though few weeks before exams needed extra concentration and focus.

How did you allot time to different subjects?

I always plan my study, I group 2 subjects in one day (i.e. 1 practical and 1 theory) timetable for studying was prepared 1 month prior to exams

Can you share some insights on how to crack the subjects before exams?

I solve lots of previous years question papers, bu that you get an idea of how they divide the syllabus and in what ratio, so you just come to know the importance

Do you think BMS student require coaching classes or is self-study enough? Had you joined any coaching class for a particular subject?

Well it depends on one’s strength and weakness, I had joined coaching classes for SSF and FM . Score Classes by Prof. Jhabak. It did pay off as I scored 55/60 in SSF.

Did you participate in college fests or extra-curricular activities? Do you think a BMS student can manage both studies and extra activities?

Yes, infact I was the head and the chief co-ordinator in my college festivals as well as vice-chairperson of BMS club of my college. I dedicated more time for ECA then academics because that experience is highly valuable and develops your personality which is appreciated in Industry.

“All play, No work makes Jack the dull boy.” So we need to balance academics and ECA appropriately.

Did you pursue any additional courses/ internships alongside BMS?

Nope, I wish I could.

Today, we often come across students committing suicide out of failure, depression or tension of exams. What do you have to say about this? Did you use any special techniques for stress management?

Always find time for your hobbies and music that will surely act as stress buster if you have any. BMS is a learning process, one should not take pressure in this stream. Keep your calm and enjoy the curriculum.

Do you think the number of Industrial visits should be increased for BMS Students? Which industries have you visited?

I have visited Infosys Bangalore, Saras dairy Gujrat and many more. I think 3 visits are perfect

Do you think BMS students are flooded with assignments, projects and internal exams round the clock? What changes would you like to bring in the BMS Curriculum?

I feel it’s perfect, this is what management is all about, but students fail to understand its worth as they just copy the assignment without any research or their own contribution. So they don’t learn anything new.

What message would you like to give to the next batch of BMS students?

Understand the need of being in management stream. Participate in ECA to polish ur practical skills along with academical skills.

What are the future plans post BMS?

Entrepreneurship.

Any Feedback/Suggestions for BMS.co.in?
