Ankit Rathi – Sydenham College BMS Topper says:

Answers do not require any special way but just write whatever you are writing with confidence. Case studies need to be analyzed carefully and then answer.

Subject wise tips:

HRM- Study all major concepts and try to write in your own words.

Service Sector Management- All the concepts should be related to our life so that they can be understood and can be written easily.

Business Ethics- at least Study and remember the major concepts. Don’t mess up between different concepts.

Logistics- It’s a very vast subject and just start studying it from beginning.

FM and SSF- Practice and Practice. Also don’t forget to read the theory.

Rishab Sharma, S.M. Shetty Topper says:

–       Always keep a Note-book ready with all kind of sums solved to see at last moment.

–       Keep star marked on the sums, which you feel are important.

–       Keep formulae highlighted as formula based sums are most easiest.

–       Make a box over your final answer which makes it visible to the checker & he may also not cut your marks for any silly mistake you might have done while solving the sum.

  1. Make proper and simple notes as it saves time and becomes easy to memorize and recollect during exams
  2. Do markings on the lines/sentences which you feel are important so that you can elaborate it later
  3. Case studies don’t have a standard answer. So if you complete a particular chapter/lesson then you can just read cases with solutions which are given behind every chapter

Chillout tips:

  1. Have glucose water while studying
  2. Practical subjects should be done during night because morning time is good to read theory
  3. Put all distractions aside and just concentrate on studies
  4. If you are successful to do the above things then you are on your way to success ;)

Priyanka Manjrekar, N.K. College BMS Topper says:

  • Firstly I use neat and clean handwriting which I am more concerned on.
  • Secondly presentation, Last 5 min of my paper I give only for drawing lines and highlighting wherever needed.
  • Always write your answers in bullets rather than paragraph.
  • The length of answer matters a lot, never waste your time writing unnecessary which is not asked.
  • Always underline the headpoints of every answer so that the examiner has an ease to check your paper.
  • Draw flow chart and diagrams wherever possible.

I think everyone studies the same portion but what makes your paper stand different is your presentation. You may know the entire answer but you should also know how to present it in your paper, what to write and how much to write.

Revision is essential to crack any exam.

Easy subjects are HRM and BUSiNESS ETHiCS

Paper should be presentable enough and answers should be supported with maximum possible diagrams.

Case studies (while reading) should be divided into sections to understand the flow and thus searching answers thereto becomes easy.

Lenita Thakkar, K.J. Somaiya BMS Topper says:

1.LOGISTICS being the most difficult theory subject, I found it amusing because of the hilarious examples given by my friends which helped to make the subject more interesting.

2.SSM was made easy by my college faculty who taught SSM with realistic examples.

3. FM and SSF had a long lasting impact on the memory due to lots of practice.

4.BUSINESS ETHICS was an easy subject but college faculty made its imprint on our minds with playful methodology of teaching.

5.HRM is a fascinating subject in itself and being an HR loving person, I became all the more interested to know about the subject.

Shikha Singh, ICLE’s BMS Topper says:

To crack any exam first of all speed and accuracy is very important. It’s important to attempt full 60 marks paper and write atleast something sensible even if we don’t know the answers. Secondly we must have lots of doubts because if we have doubts, we will try to find answers for it and this will help us to understand the concepts.

Every student has his own insight on the easy and difficult subjects. But I believe in “Hardwork + Smartwork” and thus all subjects are too much difficult for me as well as easy. Being overconfident can lead to foolishness.

Always write answers point to point even in case studies. Just because you want to fill the pages that doesn’t mean you write any blah blah blah. Write in simple language, give lot of examples and present a neat paper.

Garima Singh, Thakur college BMS topper says:

The best way to crack your exams is be different from others. Your paper presentation should be so good that the examiner is forced to give you maximum marks he could.

Give examples wherever possible.

Make diagrams in every answer

Most importantly UNDERLINE the key points.

Yasha Shrishrimal, MCC College Topper says:

There is no easy nor difficult subject, it’s just a matter of our perception and practice.

BEFORE EXAMS:

  • Practice practical subjects daily such as FM and SSF at least 2 sums each day. For other theory based subjects such as HR, BE, SSM just be attentive in class and get your concepts thoroughly cleared. Ask doubts whenever you have them. Remember, it’s better to ask twice than to fail once.
  • Also, take every question separately and figure out how you will attempt the question if asked in the exam. Think how you can present the answer in a different manner.
  • Draw diagrams and illustrations wherever possible.
  • Give apt and accurate examples. Don’t bluff. Rather google out relevant examples or industry applications of concepts and make your answers qualitative.
  • Relate newspaper articles with your subject topics and quote important personalities, if possible

DURING EXAM:

  • Keep your answer sheets neat, but do not waste page. Have legible handwriting. Underline important points.
  • Do not change the order of the questions, though you can change the sequence of you answering them, i.e, leave the page in between and then return
  • Answer the concepts and brief answers first. Attempt the case study in the end.
  • Manage your time well. Keep atleast 40 minutes for case study, since you have to think, relate the case study to your concepts, arrange your thoughts well and then represent systematically.

POST EXAM:

  • Do not think of your paper once it’s over. Do not discuss it with friends. Just prepare well for the next day’s paper.

Tejas Kalyan, VES BMS Topper says:

We need to study one practical & one theory subject in a day. Financial management & Human resource management are quite easy subject to study. In concept questions we need to show examiner that how much we understood from particular concept. In concept questions no need to write same as it is given in books but we can also add our practical experiences relating to that concept.

In case of long answer we should follow a particular format of writing answer e.g Introduction, Meaning, Definitions, Main answer, Examples & Conclusion.

Case study is an important part of our paper. Even in case study we need to follow format i.e Introduction, Facts, Problems, Solution & Conclusion.

Financial Management & Special studies in Finance-Regularly practice solving of FM numerical questions in order to improve speed of solving sums.

HRM-Make sure that your concepts are clear in order write it in our own words

Logistics-this is one of the technical subject, we need to study in detail. Some of the terms we need to write as it is.

Service Sector management-In this subject we need to understand how services are different from goods & how to market it & achieve customer satisfaction. Practice maximum case studies of each & every service sector

Business ethics & CSR-This is interesting subject. In this subject also we need to study concepts in detail. In case of CSR, at the end we should study top companies CSR activities. It is useful in writing CSR answers & case studies.

Gulzar Mesani, Hinduja BMS Topper says:

Presentation of the Paper should be good, write lot of examples, with every answer a example from corporate world should follow, It helps the examiner to know that you have understood the topic, For Financial Management and Special studies in finance do regular practice. Do not copy paste the content from textbook in your mind, create and write your own answer.

Ashok Jaiswal, RJ BMS Topper says:

Don’t get stressed and keep your mind cool and study accordingly. Try to remember the points as much as possible. Don’t get stressed, do some exercise in order to relieve stress and then study, it will help you. Easy subjects were SSM, SSF, HRM, FM. Try to write your answer in points and write as much points you can write. Remember the concepts and write your answer in your own words. There are no special ways to crack the case studies just read it carefully and write the answer according to marks allotted to each question
