I am South Mumbai Representative at Mumbai University, Member of Student Council at Mumbai University, General Secretary at Bhavan’s H.S. College.
Were you expecting to top in the exams? To whom would you credit this success to?
No, I was not at all expecting to top because everyone told me study hard but i used to hardly study.
The credit of the success goes to Pradnya, Heril, Bharat and all my friends who forced me to study. The credit also goes to Dr. Medha Gupte (Principal), Dr. Murdule (Head Student Welfare Department) who always showed faith in me. Prof. Shrotri and other professors who guided me and the last but the most important- my parents and family who supported me to live my life as i want to live.
Did you prepare religiously from day One or A few weeks before the exams?
I started my studies 10 days before my exams, that too Pradnya used to teach me and Heril used to make my notes.
How did you allot time to different subjects?
My whole time was allotted to events and other curricular activities. Only during my exams I use to study 5 hours a day.
Can you share some insights on how to crack the subjects before exams?
The only way of topping the exam is have a nice group. A group which will help you in everything what you do and believe in you because there are many people who will demotivate you.
Do you think BMS student require coaching classes or is self-study enough? Had you joined any coaching class for a particular subject?
No, I don’t think BMS students require any coaching classes.
Did you participate in college fests or extra-curricular activities? Do you think a BMS student can manage both studies and extra activities?
Yes, God knows in how many events and other curricular activities I had participated and Yes, a BMS student has to manage both.
Did you pursue any additional courses/ internships alongside BMS?
Yes, I used to go to my dad’s office.
Today, we often come across students committing suicide out of failure, depression or tension of exams. What do you have to say about this? Did you use any special techniques for stress management?
In BMS, there is no stress. We are assured that we will atleast clear the exam.
Do you think the number of Industrial visits should be increased for BMS Students? Which industries have you visited?
Yes, the number of Industrial Visits should be increased. I have visited- Post Office, Chikki Factory, Rice Factory, Sugar Factory, Paint Factory, Kissan Farm House, BSE, etc.
Do you think BMS students are flooded with assignments, projects and internal exams round the clock? What changes would you like to bring in the BMS Curriculum?
Yes, we were flooded with the assignments, projects, internal exams round the clock. The number of assignments should be reduced. I would like to say that a live project should be given to students for 200 marks.
What message would you like to give to the next batch of BMS students?
This is the last year when you can actually enjoy. You need to learn that life is outside the 4 walls of your college, so gain experience, enjoy life and sometimes even study.
What are the future plans post BMS?
I am going to abroad in January.
