Tell us more about yourself.
– Hello Friends I am Gourav Samir Poddar, I am 22 yrs & live in Mira Road.Something which is Extrageneous in me is my Adherence towards my work.I have also done Diploma In FTM and focusing in my Career growth & development.About my family members – My Dad is a businessman & my elder sister who works as an Operation associate.I even got a best friend     to whom i consider as my own brother.
Were you expecting to top in the exams? To whom would you credit this success to?
Definitely yes I was expecting good marks more than 75% but not 86% in sem 6.I have topped in my college,Classes and also in Mira-Bhayander.
Well the Credit goes to many people to whom I consider my well wishers
First credit got to My College Coordinator- Isha Chowdhry & trustee- Mr.Mehta, & then supportive faculties- Prof. Disha Soni, Prof.Athira, Prof.Arun sir,Prof.Yashes sir, Prof.Durvi , etc and also my Classes faculties- Dharshan sir & Arun & Paresh sir.
Secondly I give credit to my Family who trusted on me & the last but not the least my best friend- Dharshan Rathod to whom i used to teach and experience my self to enhance my confidence for exams.
Did you prepare religiously from day One or A few weeks before the exams?
Well I will not give any jargon about preparation from start of the sem 6, but i eventually started preparing when i worked in BPO where it had helped me in enriching my confidence while talking to customers, forecasting & Planning .
I always used to thing how to make the paper attractive in the aspects of Perfect answer. According to me the perfect answer is something which comprises of all the fact required in the ty level answer sheet.
How did you allot time to different subjects?
I am a very moody person but like to read a lot and watch documentary, I never prepared to get marks but to fetch it from the examiner. I do not believe in preparing timetables or allocating time but always have an optimistic mindset .
Can you share some insights on how to crack the subjects before exams?
Well as a student comes in ty his answer should not be monotonous but in to an extraordinary way. It should comprise of Introduction, conceptualization, explanation, diagram, and then conclusion for 10 marks . For concept questions it should be consisting of all technical vocabulary, and a definition with relevant examples.and the case study should always start up with an overview, facts, possibilities, one possible solution, diagram & then a conclusion- I had got this knowledge from my Prof. Disha.Soni. She had made me writing around 30-35 prelims exams of 1 subject where i had justified by scoring 46 marks in externals(IMTP). My main funda is not to do Donkey studies but always to practice Smart work in exams, class participation and then in your life & so on.
Collect as many notes you can,do not compromise while studying Definitions, practice OR & IF hardcore which includes from CA books, other classes books. Ensure you bifurcate the exam sheet in to 2 parts i.e 1st should comprise of sec 2 and allocate first 18 pages & then the remaining 12 pages for sec 1 because i had made many research on writing papers in to a promising way and many a time challenged prof about how to allocate the paper sheet.
Do you think BMS student require coaching classes or is self-study enough? Had you joined any coaching class for a particular subject?
Well it depends on the Student whether he knows about his caliber or he just wants to waste time. Because i joined a classes but was always serious about my studies and took maximum output from my faculties. I join ARUN classes in Bhayander for OR & IF but practiced immensely.
Did you participate in college fests or extra-curricular activities? Do you think a BMS student can manage both studies and extra activities?
Yes i had participate in college fests or extra-curricular activities, i was a PR in my college fest where in managing to invite other colleges in our Fest . Well according to me yes unless if they do Smart work .
Did you pursue any additional courses/ internships alongside BMS?
Well i have done Diploma in FTM and now work in my Dad’s company to explore manufacturing unit.
Today, we often come across students committing suicide out of failure, depression or tension of exams. What do you have to say about this? Did you use any special techniques for stress management?
Well i will consider them as cowards because even i lost my mom  2 years ago but never thought of leaving my studies. Special techniques for stress management for boys is go to gym and make good body, even i had focused in it partially.
Do you think the number of Industrial visits should be increased for BMS Students? Which industries have you visited?
Yes the BMS student should be taken to industries such as Godrej, P&G, L&T, etc rather than trip for a week .
Do you think BMS students are flooded with assignments, projects and internal exams round the clock? What changes would you like to bring in the BMS Curriculum?
According to me every aspect in life has challenge but depending on my “GURUMANTRA”- Do Smart work rather than Donkey work.
What message would you like to give to the next batch of BMS students?
Study hard but just don’t fool around your self by saying that i study for long hours but the outcome is less. You have to justify your self as the Market is competitive there are people who will eat you up in market if you don’t recognize your potentials.
What are the future plans post BMS?
Yes i will be doing PG course in Material MNGT or LOGISTICS.
