Why do 99% of BMSites promise “Agle semester mein padhunga aur top karunga”?

Well, when we published our last post on “10 tips to start a successful semester”, lot of BMSites reacted telling that they are very clever and they don’t require tips to start studying from the initial days of the semester.

We were able to digest that fact (as we ourselves are BMS passouts) but were wondering of the 300-500 professors who teach 30,000 BMS students in 100 colleges across Mumbai. How will they understand the depths of what keeps going inside the brain of a BMS student!?

BMS students can be characterized as: Smart, Intelligent, Clever, Wise, Ambitious, Brave, Talented, Sharp, Self-confident, Bold, Daring, Determined, Energetic, Enthusiastic etc. etc. etc. (the list is too short though 😉 )

One unique quality which no other course student can beat them in is –Never give up attitude.

Eg- Even if a BMS gal tells a BMS guy to backoff, BMS guy thinks the gal means that he should just try again next semester :p

Even if he/she fails in one semester (academically), it is always “Next semester se padhunga aur top karunga”

Hence, the “Next Semester funda” becomes very popularly remembered and widely accepted by all the BMS students across various colleges.

What other reasons makes “Next semester se padhunga/padhungi” still  famous?

  • When the semester starts, the first assignments and internal exams are flunked thinking of them as unimportant tests (even after having experience of a couple of semesters) and not worthy of preparation. (as 2 best out of 3 is considered)
  • A BMSite prefers utilizing the precious time by talking in the canteen or nearby resto with his friends/whatsapping/facebooking/attending college events rather than wasting the time by completing assignments and preparing for the illogical tests. (How will the world function if BMS students don’t interact with each other in the canteen 😉 )
  • Then rumors start floating in colleges about the results (e.g. Only 18% of the students have passed in FM, Tomorrow is the result, This year majority of the students have scored below 70% etc.etc.etc.) — Stressful period of a BMS student (including toppers)
  • This is the time when BMSites understand that the new semester has already started and they recollect their promise of “Next Semester se zarur padhunga”. Gfs and Bfs start convincing “Sab theek ho jaayega”and “Accha hi results aayega” etc. Rancho of 3 Idiots becomes Ishan Awasthi of Taare Zameen Par.
  • End of January/beginning of February are the time-period when the previous semester results get declared and after seeing the results “PASS”, students start celebrating saying “Hum log toh hai hi itne intelligent”.
  • Even if there is 1 KT in any paper, BMSites blame the paper-setter directly and claim it to be the most difficult subject. When 95% of the class has flunked, everything can be tackled at home. If it cannot be tacked, then students hide the marksheets at senior’s place and declare themselves pass at home. Everybody is happy from relatives to neighbours to parents.
  • Next Big thing!! Confusion between “Revaluation mein daalu ya ATKT exam ka form bharu?” That’s when college peon uncles guide telling that “dono ek hi hai”. Be ready to spend 1000 bucks on your revaluation and ATKT exam forms as REVAL results are never declared before ATKT exams 😉
  • Money is never a problem for BMS students as they always have enough friends to lend for such noble causes 😉
  • So after failing and lying @ home, if they get caught, then ALL THE BEST!! (would have to write entirely new post on “How to tackle if got caught lying and doing jugad?”)
  • 3 months pass by with I, II and III Internal tests which are not even noticed by the students and finally back to the Semester exams with those 4 Units and “40 marks ki kimat tum kya jaano topper babu?” dailogs.
  • Topper friends are always helpful as they explain the correct meaning of the entire chapters in few hours which even after attending lectures for 4 months can’t help. Although everything that is learned in the few hours is like ‘hearing for the first time’ in students’ lives.
  • Suddenly students become a biiig fan of BMS.co.in and start downloading important notes, question banks, prelims papers etc…. 😉 😉 🙂
  • And finally on the exam day, the 2 hours seems to be very little to write what is learnt in the 4 units. After coming out of the exam war (Sorry hall),students scan the question paper (with their eyes 😉 ), count the average marks and if it has totaled 24 then party like a topper otherwise tear the question paper and promise himself/herself “Agle semester se padhunga/padhungi aur top karunga”.
