A new player ‘Corey Anderson’ breaks the fastest century in One-day international history

On New year’s day in 2014,  a 17-year record was finally broken by New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson. He cracked the fastest century in One-day international history by reaching 3 figures in just 36 deliveries against the West Indies on Wednesday.

The previous record was held by Shahid Afridi, who took 37 balls to reach his ton playing for Pakistan against Sri Lanka in 1996.

Shahid Afridi admitted that he had never heard the name of Corey Anderson until he broke his record for the fastest one-day hundred. He was shocked that the first news of 2014 is that his record was being broken. He feels that it’s a great achievement and Anderson deserves all the praise as records are meant to broken.  

23 year-old Corey Anderson was on 95 off 35 balls and smashed a six off Nikita Miller over long-leg to complete the fastest century in ODI history.
