A poetic representation of the cry for one self – Stand Up

I’m tired of letting other people hold me down,

Tired of everyone trying to shape me to be whom they want me to be,

I’m tired of no one caring about how I feel about situations.

How I feel about my personality,

How I react to different scenarios,

People need to learn that pushing me down isn’t going to do anything for them that leaving me alone won’t,

I am ready to become my own person,

No one is going to stand in my way,

You have held me down for so long,

But now I’m ready,

I’m ready to “STAND UP”.
