Tell us about yourself.

I am Ruchika Didwania from KC College. I am a determined and goal oriented person and have varied interests like writing poems, paper quilling and painting out of which making jewellery out of papaer quilling is my hobby.

Were you expecting to top in the exams? To whom would you credit this success to?

Honestly, I was not expecting to top but I have always been academically consistent throughout the year. Though I must say that I got much more than the percentage I expected. I would credit my success to my parents, my professors, Head of Department and my friends!!

Did you prepare religiously from day One or A few weeks before the exams?

I prepared a few weeks before the exams because of my CAT and CMAT entrance exams. But I religiously attended most of my lectures and was attentive which helped me fare through without the help of any coaching classes or such!

How did you allot time to different subjects?

I paid more attention towards practical subjects like Operations Research and International Finance and practiced regularly.

Can you share some insights on how to crack the subjects before exams?

I think even if you don’t study regularly, be in touch with the subject through lectures. It is of great help in the end. International marketing seemed easy as most of it was covered in earlier semesters and also retail management. I guess simple way of writing the answers always works! And as far as case studies are concerned try finding the answers in the case itself. For most of the subjects the books of RPH were of great help-easy and simple.

Do you think BMS student require coaching classes or is self-study enough?

For subjects requiring practice coaching classes can be of help but in the end what matters is self-practicing and study.

Had you joined any coaching class for a particular subject?

No, I have not joined any coaching classes throughout the course.

Did you participate in college fests or extra-curricular activities? Do you think a BMS student can manage both studies and extra activities?

Yes, of course. A BMS student can definitely manage both studies and extra-curriculars with proper time planning. I didn’t participate in most of college fests as I was busy exploring my hobbies and also preparing for my entrance exams.

Did you pursue any additional courses/ internships alongside BMS?

I didn’t pursue any additional courses as along with BMS I was simultaneously preparing for my CAT/CMAT exams.

Today, we often come across students committing suicide out of failure, depression or tension of exams. What do you have to say about this? Did you use any special techniques for stress management?

I think today students need to believe in their capabilities and believe that they can rise again from any failure whatsoever. And the best technique for stress management is thinking with a cool mind and also the support of family and friends always helps!

Do you think the number of Industrial visits should be increased for BMS Students? Which industries have you visited?

I think one or two industrial visits serve the purpose as there are projects and internals and various festivals which takes up the time.

Do you think BMS students are flooded with assignments, projects and internal exams round the clock? What changes would you like to bring in the BMS Curriculum?

Yes, the BMS students are flooded with assignments and exams but that’s what teaches us management and prepare us for such kind of pressure in future. I won’t bring any changes but would surely like the subjects to be more practical and corporate related.

What message would you like to give to the next batch of BMS students?

Wish you all the luck everyone. Enjoy the three amazing years of your graduation. And Believe in Yourself. It always works!!!

What are the future plans post BMS?

My future plan is to pursue MBA and specialize in HRM post BMS!
