What is your teaching philosophy?
There any many famous quotes but what I believe is that every human soul is teaching something to someone nearly and to teach is to learn twice. Every teacher should keep in mind the following quote –
Good teacher is one-fourth preparation and three-fourths theater. – Gail Godwin
Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are endless. – Mother Teresa
Do you believe in teaching should be full of ideas rather than stuffed with facts?
No, it should be a mixture of both facts as well as ideas.
Can a student from Arts/science background also do BMS?
Yes, students from science and art background also do BMS.
As a BMS faculty, what kind of projects do you expect bms students to work upon?
Depending upon their interest on specific field they should be given specialized project in different fields such as HRM, Marketing, Production, Finance, Costing, etc. and also one general project on current issues. Industries should come forward to offer their research projects to the BMS students which provide the students with practical exposure as well as do an in-depth study.
Do you think a BMS Student should participate in College fests and Industrial Visits? Why?
Yes, college fest gives them a chance to show their potential and ability which not only helps in personality development but by participating in such fest they will understand the better management of events, it increases their morale, motivation, develops team spirit and good cordial relations with each other and industrial visits gives them a chance to see production process, different departments, how actually work. It helps the student to understand the management process in a better way.
People say BMS is 70 % of first year MBA. After BMS, is work experience important for MBA?
Yes. So that it gives the students better understanding of the concepts they have studied as well as to make specialization in the field.
There is a shortage of eminent professors at bachelors’ level management. With more and more institutes joining the professional courses bandwagon, do you think BMS will become yet another Bcom?
It is true that there is shortage of eminent professor at bachelor’s level but the institute can take help of industry specialist person. It will not become another BCOM till coming 5-8 years as competition is increasing, many other fields are also upcoming like Banking and insurance, Accounts and finance etc. Of course, BMS would be a JACK OF ALL BUST MASTER OF NONE, if there is no proper specialization unless and until students don’t go for MBA they will not have the proper specialization in any subjects which do not provide proper career path in specific stream. Other thing in Bms like giving presentation, group discussions, documentary etc gives a chance for personality development as well as about current affairs.
What should BMS education mean to a student?
Bachelor of Management studies is learning about management of all man, money, machine material, market. It helps the students to best understand process and functions of management. It provides the base for a student to further explore the field of management.
Do you think the course curriculum is at par with industry expectations?
Yes. It is at par .Only changes required that students must be given summer placements which gives them practical exposure .This could be done by collaboration with industry.
Today, we often come across students committing suicide out of failure, depression or tension of exams. What do you have to say about this?
This is because students are child; u can’t expect them to be all rounder. Now days there is to much pressure on the students to get good marks they required to do hard work and to earn, name and fame in the society. Their parents, friends, society and teachers make them pressurized to get good marks and when they are not able or up to the par they commit suicide rather than pressurizing them , give them a chance to discover where their interest lies allow them to select their field of interest and try to motivate them.
Always remember “Every successful person has a painful story, every painful story has a successful ending, accept the pain and get ready for success”.

A teacher’s life is rightly described in this quote because a teacher is the person who can share all the knowledge to the students to lighten up their future life.

University of Mumbai is doing good job. They are upgrading the subjects according to the industrial need. As the introduction of e-commerce this year is good thing, required to have a tie up with the industries or specialist so every BMS students can get the guidance from same industry experts or required to organize seminar and conference at national and international level.

It is good one, it is bridging the gap between students and teachers and giving lots of new information.
