Classical Theory of Management

The term ‘classic’ means something traditionally accepted or long-established. Some of the elements of classical theory which we are still using are:-

1. Inter-related functions;
2. Guiding principles;
3. Bureaucratic structure;
4. Reward-punishment nexus.

There are three branches of classical theory. They are:-

1. Scientific Management;
2. Administrative Theory;
3. Bureaucratic Theory.
