Day 1: 12th Dec 2014
“Perfection is not attainable but If you chase excellence, you can catch perfection” .With this enlightening thought the day started with its glory.
It was a great pleasure to get the event inaugurated by Mrs.Parveen Nagpal BMS Co-ordinator of M.L.Dahanukar College of Commerce.
The events for the day were as follows:
- CSR Presentation
- Director’s cut
- Corporate showbizz
We commenced the day by welcoming our guest of honour Mrs. Savina Shenoy who is the BMS coordinator of St Andrews college ,She has got vast experience in teaching, especially the core management subjects. She did the honours of lighting up the lamps and gave a soothing start to the occasion.
As the first event (CSR Presentation) started, the participants showed up a great sense of enthusiasm and zest in them of wanting to showcase their ideas. The participants were to be judged on the basis of the feasibility, sustainability and effectiveness of the idea.
The participants tried to put forth their innovative ideas and the judges had to select the best amongst the best. As per the fair and unbiased decision declared by the judges the winners of the event were as follows:
- The first prize winner were Ashita Tukadiya and group from Tolani College of Commerce:
The CSR activity that they presented was based on the social of illiteracy, and they came up with the concept of “Each one teach one”
- The Second prize winner were Rohit Shet and Group from M.L.Dahanukar of Commerce:
The CSR activity that they presented was based on the social problem of Sex workers, and they came with the solution of providing employment opportunities to them
The second event of the day was Director’s cut in which the participants had to present a short film, film should convey social message.
The films that were projected by the participants had to be judged on the basis of Story, Direction, Screenplay and the message conveyed.
The judge for this particular event was Ms Pallavi Dalal who is the HR head at Dalal and Brocha stock broking pvt ltd, She is also a visiting faculty at NM and Dahanukar college of commerce , and has got a great expertise in the field of HR.
The movies made by the participants were so incredible that it even become for the judges to take the decision. Hence, there was tie for second prize

The first prize winner where Sanchit kini and group from M.L.Dahanukar College of Commerce:
This group presented a film called “Ek panchi ke kahani” inspired by true story, the film depicted the story of a right handed Pistol Shooter, whose hand was being injured due faulty grenade, but he didn’t leave the hope he switched to shooting with his left hand because of his dedication and determination he was again able to shoot.
The Second prize was shared between 2 groups:
1) Zeenat Shaikh and group from Rizvi College of Arts, Science and Commerce:
This group presented a film called “The Power of Fear” based on Eve-teasing, it is always seen that girls always tolerate the torture of eve-teasing, stalking etc. This group tried to convey that a day will come when girls in the society will start reacting to it to overcome their fear.
2) Akshay Bowelkar from Viva College
This group presented a film called “Majab” wherein they conveyed a message that a person may be belonging to any religion, but he must along with his religion respect all the other religion.
The Third and the final event of the day was “Corporate Showbizz”. It was a fashion show but the twist here was the contestants had to be in formal attire and walk the ramp not only that but the intellectual level of the contestants was being tested through question and answer session. This was both a group and individual event
The judge for this event was Mr.Aaron Mascarenhas, he is a financial risk analyst and advices many blue chip companies. He is also a professional soft skills trainer.
The individual winners of this event are as follows:
First prize was secured by Mayuri Malandkar from M.L.Dahanukar College of Commerce
Second prize was secured by Prerna Dangwani from Tolani College of Commerce
