On 29 June 2014, UGC declared that students who took admission in the academic year 2013-14 for B.Tech course in Delhi University will continue to pursue the 4 year programme.
While the BMS course has been scrapped, the news of B.Tech came as a relief for nearly 3k students who had completed their first academic year in B.Tech as per FYUP.
However, from this year, students will be admitted to 3-year UG programmes instead of FYUP.
“Four-year B.Tech programmes in Computer Science, Electronics, Food Technology, Instrumentation Electronics and Polymer Science (where students were admitted in colleges under Delhi University) and which are covered under section 22 of the UGC Act, with respect to B.Tech, may continue in these programmes only for the students already admitted for academic year 2013-14,” said a UGC statement.
