Development of sports in India

A very important agenda of any country in the world is A SPORTS. Even the poorest countries in world put in a great effort to develop their sporting talents. Sports personalities and athletes are given a lot of impetus by governments and other sports ministries around the world. However, in India though the country is vast with lots of resources and huge population the development for sports has not been that immense.  There is a huge pool of talented sports person in all parts of India only the thing is to provide them with proper opportunities and platforms to all levels of people right from rural village to urban areas.

One of the best ways to cultivate sports personalities is right from the childhood of the person there should be a school or university separately for sports development just like arts school or music school. The school should consists of various sports development committees or programs in them where the talent of the child is indentified and then train them to built their career as sports person. Although this is not practical in country like India, where there is a great political influence in almost everything. However, as of now we could just think about developing sports personality. The factors that are of most important are as follows:-

Infrastructure: – to build the athletes stronger and competitive, there should be proper conditions availed for sports person in order to create good conditions for practicing. For which proper infrastructure with excellent equipments should, made availed.

Eradicating political influence: –   a person in India can excel in sports if he has a strong political support with him. However, the person with good sporting talents has to struggle a lot in order to create a platform for himself. It is all about linking politicians into sports departments. The officials in sports department should be free from political background and should encourage budding talents not politicians.

Corruption: – not only political affairs but also corruption plays a significant role in discouraging sports development in India. Corruption and corrupted people should be removed from their post .higher officials in sports departments encourage bribes and allow the players to get in but at the same time, they are destroying the sports career of thousands of poor but talented peoples.

Scholarships: – majority of talented population in India is from poor background. Due to lack of finance, they have to give up their mind. To encourage and support such poor background player’s funds or scholarship should be provided based on their sporting talents.

Coaching centre: – coaching centers is to be started even at the rural areas or villages of India, which could encourage rural players.

School level :- supports for making a career in sports should be provided from the school level. It is the responsibility of school to make their students get involved in various sporting activities in order to highlight their talent and to work on it accordingly.

These are only the basic requirements India needed now in order to develop in sports. If India wants to top the list of best sporting country then the point of sports school is to be taken into consideration. The basic principle of any organization is to make use of optimum utilization of available resources. Here the case is we have excess of resource (population) but we are not using it properly. China can say as country, which is properly using their population at least in the field of sports. Their performance in London Olympics highlighted it. Surely we can be far ahead in sports than other countries if given importance to it.
