We all know that the football is the love-life of the famous actor John Abraham. Thus in the advent of the most awaited tournament of all time ‘The FIFA World Cup’ John is all set to make the country “live the magic” of the international tournament. John will be soon doing a film based on the sport and has even started investing in a football franchise.
Everyone does wonder that since John had so much interest in the game of football why he didn’t opt for football as a career choice. On that John replied saying he would have played for India but he had to make a choice between football and MBA. But despite his childhood dream not coming true he has thought of living it via different avenues.
So what if John dream of becoming a footballer and playing for India didn’t come true, He can relive his dream by playing the role of footballer in his movies. John’s home production 1911 which will be directed by Shoojit Sircar will see him reprise the role of late Indian footballer Sibdas Bhaduri on the silver screen. Capitalising on his star power, he has bought the Guwahati franchise of the Indian Super League (ISL).

John has also being appointed as the FIFA World Cup brand ambassador 2014 by sports and entertainment channel Sony SIX. The Bollywood heartthrob grew up watching Argentina footballer Diego Maradona, All thanks to his father who used to wake him up early morning to catch up on football matches.
