Mumbai is a highly populated city. I am sure everyone is aware about it. A working person comes across different kinds of people. People, whom he never imagined of meeting. But is it possible for him to meet all these different people at one place? Of course it is possible. “Mumbai local trains” is the right answer. If you ever get a chance to travel in a local train, stay alert to view different personalities at the same time.
‘Aamchi Mumbai’ is a city which wakes up early but sleeps late. We have people catching a train at 05.00 am in the morning. Such people are always in search of a place to sit, to relax and take a small nap. It is very difficult to get a seat in the train, even if the train starts from that platform. These people will be least bothered about their co-passengers. We also have travellers who will eager to interact with their co-passengers, irrespective of the other person’s interest. All they look for is company to chit chat. By the time, the train reaches its destination, the strangers will become buddies and will be aware of each other’s life history.
We also have first time travellers. It is easy to identify them. An experienced traveller knows the rules and regulations of travelling in locals. There are others who are visitors. They will be travelling for experience, after listening to the stories of Mumbai Local Trains. How can we forget about the shopkeepers, whose sell their products inside the compartments. These vendors will have areas allocated between us. Everybody will have to abide by the borders and needs to make profit within their allocated area. Mumbai without Wada Pav is incomplete. Similarly, trains without beggars are incomplete. Last but not the least, ticket checkers always travel in disguise.
This list is just not limited to the above types. We do have other kind of travellers. The best way to find out is to travel in locals and experience by yourself.
