To establish equivalence and eligibility of admission to Second Year/Third Year Degree Courses of students who have passed their First Year/Second Year (Lower examination/s) from College affiliated to University where credit system is implemented or not.
There is a resolution of the Equivalence Committee where in a student who has passed the lower examinations from other university with less number of subjects as compared to the number of subjects at University of Mumbai is eligible to seek admission to the Higher Class subject to the condition that the student undertakes the subject not studied at the parent university, pass the examination of the subjects concerned and then the degree is awarded.
The same norms can be used to grant equivalence in such cases. However the terms of the learner should be assumed to be granted for the course/s of study of the lower class and the learner must appear for the examinations under CBSGS as ex‐student. Once the student studies and passes the examinations in number of subjects required at the lower examination, the marks obtained by the student at the parent university can then be converted to credits and grades and for the subject studies at the current college under CBSGS can be combined to determine the credits, grade points, SGPA and CGPA.
