St. Xavier’s College was established in the year 1869 by German Jesuits. The college is run by Indian Jesuits and gives special consideration to Roman Catholic students. The college offers various undergraduate and post-graduate programs in arts, commerce and science. The college is famous for its inter-collegiate youth festival ‘Malhar’. Many film scenes are shot in the college campus which includes Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Main Hoon Na, Munna Bhai MBBS etc. Xavier’s students are known as Xavierites and the college has an online newsletter which is known as “The Xavierite”. It covers various stories, events and reports related to the college and its alumni.
