Who is your favorite teacher/faculty?
Favourite faculty from my college… Is a difficult question but would like to say Prof.Mithil Shah. He is a new teacher but is a very interesting person. I admire him as he does stuff which I would like to do myself, and also a great teacher and speaker.
When did you join BMS? Which year you are in?
I joined BMS 2 years back. Just gave my SYBMS exams.
What inspired you to choose BMS and not any other course?
Always wanted to do something in the field of financial management and couldn’t get a better course than BMS.
According to you, what is BMS all about?
BMS is all about discovering the person in you. It helps you know about yourself and capabilities along with the competitive world around. A few words to describe BMS would be fun, innovation and learning.
What was the happiest moment in BMS? The saddest? The most memorable?
My saddest moment in BMS would be (there are not many) .. Actually can’t think of one. Most memorable and happiest was when our Prof (prof.pandit) liked my Applied mathematics research project and said that this is one of the best projects he had come across. That really meant a lot as I had really put a lot of effort into it.
Who in your life has influenced the most?
I have been strongly influenced by Sachin Tendulkar and Dr.A P J Abdul Kalam. Both these personalities do not have any connection with management or my field of interest but their qualities would surely help anyone wanting to reach the top in life.
As a BMS student, what changes would you like to bring in management education?
BMS is actually a very practical course but more practicality in a few subjects like EXIM, Pqm etc. would be very helpful and informative. Just studying the theory does not help much.
What would you advice someone planning to do BMS?
I would advise him to pursue the course only if he does not go with the flow and feel BMS is just fun and timepass. To take every bit seriously and he would achieve great success when he passes these 3 very important year of one’s life.
3 Questions you would like to ask an MBA?
IS pursuing an MBA after gaining a few years of work experience better?
If yes, how many years would you advice?
Are there negatives about doing a part time MBA?
Should one pursue MBA in India or abroad? (If money is not the factor)
What are your future plans?
Want to pursue an MBA and do something in the field of research. My future plans are to become a financial manager/ portfolio manager of great quality and to be closely related with social service (having my own NGO is a dream).
